CHAPTER FORTY-THREE
A Familiar Face

Gathered in the drawing room, Aurora sat quietly as she watched Ron and Harry play a game of Wizard's Chess. She had not yet mentioned anything to them simply because she didn't know how to face them. The thought of them thinking that she was insane made her want to keep her mouth shut. However, she had kept quiet for too long now. She was desperate for advice from someone who was willing to hear her troubles and knew her well.

Although Aurora had confided in Theodore already, she found that he didn't understand her as much as she had wished. He hadn't been around her from the beginning to acknowledge how severe her troubles could get. The one person who didn't know what she was going through yet had the right response every time was dead; Cedric was dead. Aurora could no longer go to him when she needed to ask for guidance. She couldn't talk to her family knowing that they wouldn't tell her anything. She could only talk to her friends. She could talk to Harry.

Perhaps Sirius is right, thought Aurora as she stood. Maybe Harry and I are alike.

"Where are you going?" questioned Ron promptly, unintentionally knocking down the chess board as he got up too fast.

Aurora cracked a smile and said, "Don't worry, I'm not going anywhere. I'm only going to go get ready for bed. I'll be back shortly, unless you would like to accompany me to the bathroom."

Ron's face flushed out of embarrassment and shook his head as he sat back down. Aurora giggled and walked out of the room. She went across the hall to her room only to find Ginny and Hermione conversing in low voices. However, they immediately stopped when Aurora appeared.

"Bloody hell, Rory," gasped Ginny, placing her hand over her chest. "I thought you were someone else trying to pry into private conversations."

"Someone else?" she wondered aloud as she collected her bag off the bed. "Who could've walked in aside from myself?"

"My mother," said Ginny in an obvious manner. "You should know that by now. You've clearly met the woman. She barges in whenever she pleases. It's not safe to have any sort of conversation when she's lurking around. Not to mention that Fred and George have extra ears now. They're likely putting those to use right now. They're listening to us as we speak..." She looked up at the ceiling and shouted, "THAT'S RIGHT I CAN TELL WHEN YOU'RE EAVESDROPPING ON US!"

"They're not, but okay, believe what you want," said Aurora, eyeing her warily.

"Ignore her," Hermione told Aurora. "She's only acting like that because of the boy she stumbled upon on her way up here."
