So I went out with Jeremy more and I really enjoyed his company. I don't think we're officially dating yet but it seems to be getting there. He says that I'm really cool and nothing like his other girlfriends, which is really nice to hear actually. But now he's been acting really suspicious all of a sudden. He's been ignoring my calls and not texting back. I feel he's avoiding me and it's hard to not think if there is something that I did. I don't want to seem like the needy kind or desperate girl. I'm sitting in my room staring at my phone, it's a Thursday afternoon and I wanted us to go see this new movie tomorrow.
"Come on Jeremy text me back...." I spoke to myself. I laid down and put my phone on the night stand next to my bed. I haven't much of a social life lately because me and Madalyn aren't really friends anymore. My phone has been quiet for at least two weeks. Ping. I grab my phone quickly and open the text message.... it was from Madalyn.... I don't know who I would be happier to get a message from honestly but I was quite curious to see what she had to say.
"Hey Bailey it's me....ummm I know you're probably really pissed with me right now and I don't blame you...but I know you and that Jeremy boy been going out and stuff, you guys seem like it's getting pretty serious...so I'm texting you to tell you that I seen him earlier with this other girl. She has blonde hair and blue eyes which I don't think are real. I'm sorry to be the one to have to inform you about this but here you go Bails. " She ended her text with an emoji. I was heart broken and didn't know whether to ask him or just let it go and move on because it seems like he already has. I went into the bathroom to dry my face. Some one knocked on the door.
"Who is it?"
"Jessica." I groaned quietly because is didn't really want to be bothered right now and especially not with her.
"Why are you crying?" She asked.
"What are you living here now? Are you ever going home?"
"I just might be actually....look Bailey my mom isn't in a good place right now and I don't want to put up with her right now. I have all my life I deserve a break."
"This is a time you should be with her....just because she's not right we get stuck with you?"
".......Why are you crying?" She asks jumping back to the subject.
"None of your business."
"Is this about that bombshell Jeremy was with?"
"GOSH! Everyone knows except me?!" I yelled out of anger.
"It's fine....maybe he'll tell you sooner or later."
'Sooner or later!? So what I'm suppose to just sit in my room and cry my eyes out wondering if the guy I've been seeing is seeing another girl!?"
"You don't seem like the kind of girl to cry over over a guy..."
"I'm not.....but Jeremy makes me happy and he's really important to me....I wish I hadn't gotten so attached to him."
"I feel bad. He's a jerk...."
"Yeah worst part is... he made himself seem so different and mature."
"That's all guys....he just wanted to have sex with you."
"I don't think so."
"Well what can I do to help?"
"......Keep your mouth shut." I told her closing the bathroom door. I then finished crying and got my thoughts together and came out of the bathroom twelve minutes later. I decided to walk to the park and get some air.
"......Hey.." A familiar voice said.
I looked up and it was no other then Jeremy.
"......Hi." I responded
".....I'm sure someone told you why I've been avoiding you....or just been really busy." He says sitting down.
".....You're right but I don't wanna hear it from any one else....I wanna hear it from you." I was staring him in the eyes so he could feel the pain I was in.
"Bailey.....you know you're a really awesome girl...-" I cut him off
"Jeremy save it alright because I'm tired of hearing that same lie."
"I am not lying."
"So tell me why you took me out on so many dates, you come around my family all innocent, and you kiss me like I mean something and now you're avoiding me...." I felt the tears.
".....Journee's back....."
"Who?"
"Journee Meredith."
"I don't know who that is."
"Really? Journee Mean Meredith......You've got to remember her."
"......11th grade Journee?"
"Yea."
"What doss she have to do with any of this?..........Was she the girl you were with all week?"
"Yeah.....she left for a long time and she just came back and she's trying to settle in so I was helping...."
"Why couldn't you just tell me this?"
"I didn't want it to be awkward for you...."
"How would it be awkward Jeremy?"
"She's sorta like my girlfriend."
"GIRLFRIEND!? So all this time you've had a girlfriend? I cannot belive this!"
"No calm down Bailey....When she left she never really clarified whether we broke up or not."
"Well then why haven't you clarified it?"
".......I'm still crazy for her to be honest Bailey.....but I promise I made it clear to her that I was seeing you and for her not to come in between us.....me and her are purely friends....Bailey I promise op."
"How could I believe that...."
"How about we all go out.....you can bring Madalyn or someone so it won't be that awkward."
"I'll text you later about it." I said getting up and he grabbed my hand gently.
"Bailey please forgive me alright?" His eyes were so soft and I couldn't help but melt right in.
"Alright Jeremy." I said walking away. I don't know how excited I was to invite Journee back into my life since high school was over but if it meant to keep Jeremy then I was willing to do anything.
