"BAILEY!" I heard my mom's voice ripping through the floors of the house. I jumped out of bed and ran downstairs to her.

"Where....is....Alan!?"

"What time is it?" I asked.

"6am......It's a Saturday and he's gone."

"Maybe he went for a walk you and dad kept him in this house for a long time and he probably just needed air....get off his case." I said defending him.

"Half of his closet is empty....."

".......He didn't.....do you think he ran away?"

"That's my only guess."

"Where's dad?"

"He had to go in to his office."

"This early." I said going to the refrigerator.

"Yeah....Do you have any guess where he could've went?"

"Idk.....maybe a friend's house.....I mean we don't really have family that lives that close to here."

"Please call one of his friends." My mom begged.

"Sure......oh no." It just hit me that I gave Alan my phone to use and he never gave it back. I looked at my mom and closed my eyes taking in a breath before I told her knowing she was going to flip.

"Mom I actually let Alan use my phone before he left and he never have it back....."

"........Bailey Quinn Holis.....I swear sometimes....go get my phone or something and call your phone see if he answers."

I did exactly what she said and I sent him a message. He didn't respond. I sent him some more messages trying to convince him to believe that I wasn't mom and that he needed to respond to me. He finally did and he told me where he was and not to tell. So I was left to make the decision whether or not I was going to tell and have him forced back home where he's chained up for being different or let him have space and he could decide to come back.

".....Um mom he's not responding.....but I'm sure he's safe you just have to trust him."

"Bailey he's 16 and he needs to be home with his family. No 16 year old kid should be out on there on."

"Hasn't it occurred to you that he only ran away because of you and dad. Keeping him locked away in this house was horrible and I personally don't blame him for running away. But Alan is a smart boy and that wasnt fair to him."

"Well you know what he's my child and I will be choosing to make the decision of what's going to happen."

"I don't think the decision is up you guys anymore. Alan has made his decision and it was to leave. So hopefully this could be a chance for you and dad to realize how your decisions are affecting your kids lives." I ending the conversation and went into my room hoping that Alan would be alright and he would come home soon and choose to stand up for himself rather then to just run away from his problems.
