So I just graduated from high school about 4 weeks ago. It's the middle of June and I was ready for my summer break blow out. Also starting college in September is making me frantic. Madalyn thinks I'm way to excited but I don't think I am. I'm ready for a change in environment and ready for a new start. I applied for 35 colleges total, but I really only want to here back from the 5 important ones: Yale, Harvard, Princeton, University of Miami, or UCLA. I choose Harvard, Yale, and Princeton because those are Ivy league schools, but University of Miami and UCLA are like my two dream schools. I always loved vacationing in Miami and California as a kid, the beaches and fresh air made the trip really enjoyable. So I always said I would go to college there, but my dad and my mom pushed me to apply for all of those different colleges including the ivy league ones. Don't get me wrong I have Yale and Harvard posters and sweaters all over the place, but I don't think you should just choose a college based upon its reputation of greatness for instance Yale, I believe you should also choose a college where it'll best interest you. I know I don't want to go to college somewhere freezing cold all year around, like Connecticut where Yale is. I have yet to tell my parents that though because they would freak out, but I knew I had too.
