I sat in my room all the rest of the day after my mom did what she did. I couldn't believe her at this point. I was so embarrassed at the fact that she was my mom at this point. I wanted to go and apologize to Casey and my dad for what had happened. I heard them talking so I listen:
"Maybe Ices just misses Jessica."
"Well that's to bad, if Jessica wanted to go back home with her then she would have. I don't blame her for wanting to stay. I wouldn't force her back with her mom."
"I just feel bad for her that's all."
"Hey dad and Casey I just wanted to apologize for my mom's behavior earlier." I said coming in.
"Jessica it's not your fault so why are you apologizing?"
"She's my mom and I just feel really bad."
"It's alright we'll get the window fixed and act like none of this ever happened."
"I'll go talk to her tomorrow."
"You don't have to Jessie."
"But I want too, before this gets out of hand."
"Well if that's what you wanna do we can't stop you." I wanted to go right away but I couldn't get myself to step out of the house. I kept writing in my journal, choosing what I was going to say to her when I went over there. After about an hour I stopped and went into the kitchen for something to drink. Bailey was coming down the stairs, I ignored her the whole time she was in the kitchen with me. I was fed up with her whining about how she was upset that my dad and my mom had me like there was anything she could have done about it. I went into the living room with Alan.
"Alan..." I tried to get his attention.
"Yeah?"
"I'm I an okay sister?" I asked and I wanted an honest answer.
"I.....I guess so sure."
"Are you just saying that?"
"....I mean if you want to know if I hate you like Bailey does, then no."
"Why does she hate me so much?"
"She just liked being the only oldest who pretty much got the attention. If you haven't noticed she's crazy about my dad and she felt she had to share him now."
"But what about you?"
"I'm the only boy I never had to compete."
"Oh."
"Look Jessica just relax okay Bailey is a little spoiled and she gets like this sometimes. Plus she'll be off to college soon and you won't have to worry about her."
"I guess you're right Alan thanks."
"No problem." I went to my room and got dressed I was about to go see my mom.
I walked up the stairs the building she lived in and pulled the door open. I gently knocked nervously.
"Who is it!?" She yelled.
"Jessica." I replied from the she other side of the door and within seconds it flung open.
"Oh my Jessie! I missed you so much!" She grabbed me into a hug.
"Mom we need to discuss what you did."
"......Jessica I'm terribly sorry about that, I never wanted to bother nobody."
"So why did you come over there mom?"
"I wanted to talk to Edward."
"About?"
"I don't know.....I just wanted to talk to him and then that bitch Casey had to interfere."
"Mom that's his wife and you need to respect that she doesn't want you around her husband."
"He was mines first Jessica and she has seemed to forgotten that!"
"Look mom he has barely been in my life when I was younger alright.....and now I finally got the family that I dreamed of having and I don't want you ruining that. So just leave us alone."
"Us? You're one of them now?"
"Yes I am mom I enjoy having a meal every night and every morning. Having people who actually care about you. Not worrying that my drunk mother might not come home sometimes or whatever. It's peaceful over there and I deserve that."
"......Jessica you'll never be one of them! They don't want you over there, they're only putting up with you because you're Edward's kid..... all they see is a girl who has a nothing mother and that's all she is going to be in life just like her mother. You never had nothing but they had everything. I don't believe you are trading on me for those to good ass stuck up people!"
"Mom you don't know them! All you care about is if I like Casey more than you because it would kill you if she stole your own daughter away just like she did your boyfriend." She let tears fall from her eyes and before I could think about the words I just said she raised her hand and slapped me.
"Get out and don't you ever come back!" She yelled and I walked out of the door as my face stung from her anger. I tried to sneak past the living room where my dad and Casey were relaxing and slip into my room but they noticed me.
"Hey so how'd it go Jessie?" My dad asked.
"Um totally fine." My voice shook as I spoke.
"Come in here talk to us." He insisted.
"Dad um I just wanna lay down its been a pretty long day so far."
"Jessie...." His tone grew deeper so I heard into the living room lowering my head trying to hide my face.
"Jessie did things go well?" Casey asked.
"They um went fine." I obviously lied.
"But why do you sound so sad sweet heart?"
"........." I lifted my head and they stared with wide emotionless eyes.
"She hit you!?" Casey yelled.
"That's it I'm calling the police." My dad headed towards the phone.
"No stop let's just drop it alright! She said she won't bother any of us anymore and that's all I wanted so let's just drop it." They stared at each other and finally nodded in agreement. I went to my room and wrote in my journal:
Dear Journal,
Ices is dead to me.
