Davey and Les each carried a box in their hands, Davey anxiously trying to get the keys out of his pocket. He grabbed them and placed them in the keyhole, turning the knob and staring at the inside of the semi-empty apartment.Davey walked in after Les, placing his box on the counter. He turned to face Les. "I know it's not-"
"It's fine", Les tried to smile, nothing but sorrow meeting his eyes. He adjusted the box in his arms and walked to his new room.
Davey sighed and walked to the couch with a table in front of it. The table was lined with books she'd never let him read and games he'd love to play.
Yeah, Davey remembered. And then we'd all play the games after she read a chapter.
He looked away from the shelf, scared that he'd have to start all over if he stared longer. Davey got up and went to the kitchen and opened the refrigerator, then remembering they had no food.
I'll just have to go shopping, Davey listed. In the meantime...
"Hey, Les?!"
"What?!"
"You hungry yet?!"
Silence came from both sides of the apartment.
"Yeah!"
Davey closed the refrigerator.

"Morgan's?" Les read the sign and looked at his brother. "Where the hell are we?"
"First of all, language", Davey glared at his brother as he rolled his eyes. "Second of all, lose the attitude. Come on."
They got out of the car walked into the teal, 50s style restaurant. The host sat them quickly and left them to wait for a waiter.
"So", Davey starts, leaning on the table. "What are you gonna get?"
"Hmm", Les scanned the menu, "not sure. You?"
"What I always get", Davey shrugged, pushing his menu away.
Les rolled his eyes. "What if they don't have it?"
"Then I'll just get some kind of variation of it", Davey crossed his arms. "It's not a big deal."
They descended into silence, Les glancing up guiltily. "Hey, uh-"
Davey's brows furrowed as he looked at his brother. "What?"
"Do we have...enough...?" Les' eyes stared at the table. He held his head down as he asked, not wanting to hear a bad answer.
"Yeah", Davey smiled. "Don't worry about it."
Les nodded as a boy came up to their table. "Good afternoon. My name's Sam, and I will be your server today. What can I get to start you off?"
"Your number", Les said nonchalantly, smirking.
"Oh", Sam blushed, looking away. "I- I mean what drink?"
"I'll have a lemonade", Davey interrupted, rolling his eyes as Les kept staring at the poor boy. "He'll have a root beer."
Sam nodded, writing everything down and walking away. Davey flicked Les' forehead, who groaned in pain.
"What was that for?" Les rubbed his forehead.
"For making that poor kid nervous", Davey scolded. "You don't have to flirt with everyone."
"I don't flirt with everyone!" Les gasped in faux offense, placing a hand on his chest. "Just the people that I think are cute."
Davey rolled his eyes. "Right. Everyone."
