This is a lot of words, which means it's longer than usual!

I'm still figuring out ways on how to end this, but I know that it will end during the month it started. (So I figured it out and these last few are suuuuuper rushed lol)

I hope you enjoy!

It's not that Les didn't like celebrating his birthday. He did enjoy it. The cake, the presents, everything but the song. There was just something about turning fourteen.

He remembered he struggled to turn thirteen. It was mostly the realization that he truly wouldn't be a child anymore after this, and he'd really be an adult after high school. Then his entire world was rocked with his parent's accident. It sucked.

All of that aside, he'd already crossed the teenager bridge, so what was he afraid of.

"Happy birthday", Davey greeted that morning as Les walked into the kitchen, being dragged by the smell of eggs and bacon. "Good morning."

The younger teen mumbled something incoherent, leaving his older confused, as he placed his head down on the table, closing his eyes. "Is something wrong?"

Les hummed, feeling himself partially slip into a sleep mode, but he could still hear and feel everything around him. "I made pancakes. The birthday ones you like."

Les nodded, pointing at the table. "Food."

Davey chuckled before placing a plate in front of him, sitting down in his own seat. "What would you like to do today?"

Les shrugged, busy eating his food. "I was thinking of having a small party here, with my friends."

"Okay", Davey nodded, looking around the apartment. It was relatively bigger than most in New York City, but it was still pretty small. A six person party might be best. "Anything you want in particular?"

"My childhood to remain forever", Les sighed, making Davey chuckle. "But that's not probable."

"You'll be okay", the older assured, ruffling his brother's hair. "I'll see if I can come up with something with the guys."

Les furrowed his brows, placing his fork down. "Why?"

"Well, you're having a party", Davey answered, a knowing smile on his face. "I'm sure you don't want any adults there."

"You're letting me have a party alone?!" Les' grin grew as he saw Davey nod. "Holy shit, you're letting me have a party alone!"

"Watch your mouth." Davey smiled graciously, shaking his head. It was nice seeing his little brother excited, even if it was because he was getting rid of the older. "Go call your friends."

Les ran out of his seat and to his room, shouting joyously.

Books grabbed his skateboard away from his closet, stepping over the piles of things on the floor. He looked over to where his phone sat, ringing against comforter of his bed. He grabbed it, smiling when he answered the call. "Happy birthday, Les!"

He heard laughing on the other end, and grinned even wider. He loved Les' laugh. "Thanks, Sam. What are you doing?"

"I'm about to go to the skatepark", he answered, grabbing his shoes and losing them on his feet. "You in?"

"I was gonna have a party today", Les answered, Books' eyes widening at the mention of a party. "Skatepark sounds so much more fun, though."

"Uh uh, no", Books denied, placing his skateboard down. "You are not givin' up the opportunity to have a party."
