(Y/n) didn't feel so weird being back in the Fire Nation.
Maybe it was because she hadn't been to a Fire Nation town yet, or maybe it was because she could barely see anything due to Aang suspending a cloud around Appa as they tried to find a place to land.
Either way, she accepted the temporary peace of mind she had about being back in her home nation.
"I think I see a cave below." Aang whispered.
"Sh! Keep quiet!" Sokka scolded as Appa landed on the small beach by the cave.
Sokka hurried off of Appa, and hid behind a rock. "Great job with the cloud camo, but next time, let's disguise ourselves as the kind of cloud who knows how to keep its mouth shut."
Everyone else got off of Appa, their Fire Nation cloaks adorning them to hide their clothing from other nations.
"Yeah, we wouldn't want a bird to hear us chatting up there and turn us in." Toph pokes.
"Hey, we're in enemy territory. Those are enemy birds." Sokka says, rather serious.
A small bird hops from the rock he hid behind, and onto his head, earning a chuckle from everyone.
Everyone made their way into the cave, with the three younger kids in front and Sokka and (Y/n) trailing behind.
"I'm from enemy territory, remember? Must make me the enemy, then." (Y/n) whispered.
Sokka groaned. "Aw, come on, you know i'm past that."
"Hm, are you?" (Y/n) teases.
"(Y/n)! You know i'm over it." Sokka whines.
"Prove it." (Y/n) smiles, still teasing him.
(Y/n) turned to follow the others, and she swore she started to see the gears turning in Sokka's head. She could always tell when he was starting to think of ideas.
Standing in the empty cave was bleak. Sokka sighed loudly, letting everyone know of his presence behind them.
"Well, this is it. This is how we'll be living until the invasion begins. Hiding in cave after cave...after cave, after cave." Sokkas shoulders drooped and his head fell with every 'cave' he muttered.
"Sokka, we don't need to become cave people," Katara says. "What we need is some new clothes."
Katara was right. Everyone still had on their mangled and burned clothes from the fight with Azula, bright colours from other nations still on them. The only thing they had were Fire Nation cloaks to try and hide what they had on underneath.
"Yeah, blending in is better than hiding out. If we get Fire Nation disguises, we'll be just as safe as we would be hiding in a cave." Aang comments.
"Plus, they have real food out there. Does anyone wanna sit in the dirt and eat cave-hoppers?" Toph says. She then hits the cave wall, forcing some cave-hoppers out in the open. Momo slides to one of the bugs and eats it.
(Y/n) had to admit she missed Fire Nation food, and she thought red was a good colour on her. She'd bite.
Sokka looks to Momo. "Looks like we got outvoted, sport. Let's get some new clothes."
They slink around the area until they find some houses. They hide behind rocks until they find a house that had 8 clothesline's up, with a bunch of clothes hung on each of them.
"I don't know about this. These clothes belong to somebody." Aang says warily.
"Come on, Aang. Stealing clothes is only the first part of the payback that the Fire Nation deserves." (Y/n) says.
