It has been a long day. Pagkatapos sa nangyari sa korte ay dumiretso agad kami sa bahay. Inspector took a hold on to the case kasi nga daw, I don’t have a place in the department anymore. After I took a shower, I slipped on my white jumpsuit then covered my top with a denim blisser. Walking to the garage with my white shoes on was never a good idea. Hindi ko namalayan ang putek sa daan kaya  ayon, it splashed on my white shoe.

“Here, Tita,” wika ng kung sino sabay abot sa akin ng tissue.

Pagkapasok ni Dome sa sasakyan ay napatigil ako at nilingon ang lalaking nakaupo katabi kay Canon. I stared at his innocent looking face. His disheveled hair showed a little hint of red as if he dyed them. I admit na bagay sa lalaking ito ang pulang kulay but I am not just fond of dyes.
His eyes has a dark tint of brown that almost looks like they were red. Nakasuot din siya ng casual na damit, a white t-shirt and gray pedal shorts. He is pale, too, and his eyes are a little chinky than I thought. Pero nawawala ang mga mata niya tuwing ngumingiti.

“Harvey-honey, how’s your first day?” tanong ko sa kaniya.

He smiled, “Okay lang naman po. Canon was a nice kid to be with. And I find the place comfortable.”

I nodded, “Mabuti naman na ayos lang sayo. I hope that Canon was not giving you a hard time. Focus on your studies. Huwag mo nang alalahanin ang mga gawaing pambahay.”

“Sure, Tita.”

“May naisipan ka na bang lugar kung saan tayo pwedeng kumain?tanong ni Dome sa kin. He took my hand, slipped his fingers in the gap above my knuckles and tightened the grip around it. How romantic.

“I thought you already picked one?” nagbuntong ako ng hininga.

“Well, okay, let’s do fast food? Or yung nasa tabi-tabi? How about barbecue?” he smiled at me before lifting his gaze to the rear mirror.

“Barbecue!” Canon cheered.
I giggled, “Anything will do.”

Dome looked at Harvey through the mirror, “Kumakain ka ba ng barbecue, Harv?”

“Yes, tito. Anything as long as edible,” he chuckled.

We drove for three to five minutes before we arrived in a crowded place. Puno ng aso ang paligid dahil sa mga nagluluto ng barbecue. The place smells like  meet and spices. Mas lalo ata akong nagutom dahil sa bango ng nilulutong pagkain sa paligid.

Hahawakan ko na sana ang kamay ni Canon pero naglakad na sila papalayo ni Harvey. Dome noticed my stare kaya hinawakan niya ako sa bewang.

“He loves kids,” he pointed it out.
Iginaya niya ako papunta sa bakanteng mesa kung saan sila Canon at Harvey ay nakapuwesto na.

“Yeah, atleast Canon has now company kapag wala tayo—”
napahinto ako sa aking sinabi dahil  tumaas ang gilid g labi niya, “You’re doing this on purpose aren’t you?”
“Ano yon, mahal?”

“Talaga ba? You did this on purpose para hindi ko na maisama si Canon tuwing may hinaharap akong kaso!” I glared at him.

He laughed heartily, “Huwag mo kong akusahan, ha. Di yan tama, asawa ko.”

“Excuse me! Your motive is too obvious,” I rolled my eyes at him.
Nagkibit-balikat siya at pinaupo na ako. I plopped down on my chair. Naiinis na talaga ako sa kaniya. He is too much.

“I was just being a good father, my wife.”

Rolling my eyes at him again, he returned a chuckle. But even if he sounded so friendly, he still look so strict. Dumating ang inorder namin na mga barbecue. Inilagay ni Dome ang isang prism shaped na pagkaing binalutan ng dahon. I curiously looked at my own food.
