Chapter Sixteen

-Nina-

I was singing "Fallin" as I was in the bathtub. Mamaya susunduin daw ako ni Marco para magdinner somewhere special daw. These past few days lagi kaming lumalabas ni Marco going here and there.

Di ko alam if bibigay na ako sa kanya dahil sa pinapakita niya or just enjoy his undivided attention. He's really been patient and sweet for allowing me to live with Cosette while he was courting me. Although we attended the balls and charity events as husband and wife. No one knows our real set up so we can continue this "starting over."

Habang nagsusuklay ako ng buhok ay pumasok si Cosette.

"You look very happy these past few days, Nina." Sabi niya habang umupo sa may loveseat ng kwarto ko.

"Oh I am Cosette. He's finally changing." I said and smiled.

"Yes he is. I have never seen someone sending flowers every hour just for you to say yes. I do hope this will continue." She replied.

"I would like to thank you for having me here."

"Don't mention it, dear. You know how lonely it is in here so you keeping me company keeps loneliness away." She said and held my hand then patted it.

"I will be going to dinner later with Marco so don't wait me up."

"Have fun and fall in love all over again." She said and walked out of the door.

Napangiti ako sa sinabi niya at pumunta sa cabinet para mamili ng susuotin mamaya. Sabi niya dapat maganda raw susuotin ko kaya namili ako ng mga binili ni Monique noong nagshopping kami.

My hands flitted across the dresses when it rested on Marco's jacket. I pulled it out and removed the plastic then inhaled it. Somehow his perfume was still there and made me hug it. It made me wonder if sinong Marco ang mas mahal ko... The old mysterious Marco or this patient and caring husband.

I chose an off-shoulder black mini dress and high heels then curled my hair. As I was brushing my hair, I heard my cellphone beep and knew it was Marco waiting downstairs. Magmadali akong bumaba at nakita siyang nag-uusap kasama ni Cosette.

I started my way down the stairs and he stared as if seeing me again for the first time making me blush. I would always wonder how can he affect me so.

He smiled and made his way towards me to assist me down.

"Hi you look ravishing tonight ma cherì." He said and kissed my cheek then guided me towards the door.

"Have a lovely night." Cosette said and we bade farewell.

Dinala ako ni Marco sa isang mamahaling restaurant sa Paris. The menu was in French kaya hinayaan ko siyang umorder sa akin. Tila di pa rin ako komportable sa mga sosyal na kainan tulad nito at mabuti na lang ay tinuruan ako ni Cosette at Luc sa formal dining etiquette kaya di ako magmumukhang tanga.

All in all we had a good dinner at ang sarap ng pagkain. Muntik na si Marco umorder ng Escargo or snails na isang sikat na French dish dito.

"You should try it ma chèri. It's juicy and delicious." He mocked making me nauseous.

"No, thanks. I'd rather eat something else." Sagot ko at tumawa siya. Marco looks very handsome kapag tumatawa siya kasi nagiging maaliwalas ang mukha niya. Unlike before na halos lang ngumiti at tumawa saka laging seryoso.

"I'd like to take you somewhere." He said and we went out the restaurant.

Pumunta kami sa isang bahay na malaki. It has glass doors and walls tapos mukhang moderno ang style di katulad sa country estate na mala-palasyo ang design.
