after storming out of the house I knew with the way I was feeling it wouldn't be the greatest idea to go into work today so I decided to take a sick day from the hospital, I just needed space to clear my head

I drove to my favorite bar just five minutes outside of mystic falls but as soon as I walked in I groaned as I saw Stefan's older brother Damon at the bar but continued walking to the bar

once I sat down at the bar I saw Damon noticed I had sat down next him witch brought a smirk to his face

a familiar face came up to me from behind the bar, "long time Elly" she said

I realized who it was as soon as she spoke, back when I came home for the summer I used to come here a lot with Mer and Evie and this girl worked here at the time I think her names was Amy

"Amy, I didn't realize you still worked here" I said with a smirk

she gave me a glare, "yeah well not everyone has rich daddies to bail us out of responsibilities" she said

I scoffed, "you wouldn't even know the meaning of the word even if you spelt it out" I said

"whatever, do you want something or are you just here to annoy me" she said

"hard question but I'll take a bourbon neat" I said as she rolled her eyes and walked away

I felt a presence come up beside me and I turned to see Damon with a smirk plastered across her face, "you look like you a drink even more after that, friend of yours" he said

"more like blast from the past and the answer to your other question things at home are not the best right now" I explained

"I can tell by the need for alcohol, how'd you know blondie over there" he said changing the subject

I rolled my eyes, " back when I used to come here during the summer she also worked here and her boyfriend used to fancy me which irritated her" I explained

he nodded going back to his drink, "I think I can see why especially my brother after that little sleepover the other week" he said

I almost chocked on my drink, "how do you know about that, Stefan and I were the only ones that knew" I whispered to him

at that moment Amy came back with my drink in front of me eyeing Damon up and down before letting out a scoff and walking away

he leaned into me close, "you were not as quiet as you think you were" he said

I sighed, "just don't tell anyone especially Elena I really don't have the energy for another argument right now along with everything else" I said

he looked at me for a minute as if he was trying to find something, "I'm sorry Elly" he said

I looked at him in confusion, "what about" I asked

"your fiancé, I overheard you and Stefan talking the other week, you should never have know that pain" he said

I didn't say anything other than nodding at him and turning back to the bar and taking a sip of my drink

I heard a glass slide over to me and when I looked down I saw Damon's hand attached to a shot of tequila

I took it from his hand and giving a small before taking the shot slamming the glass back on the bar as he smirked at me, "let's get drunk" he said and I nodded

A few hours later

It felt like freedom to be able to do thing without having to care about the consequences of my actions and it felt even better to dance on this bar with the music blaring, it felt so good to just let go
