It took me a week before I could finally get out of bed after all the funerals were over but I knew I couldn't stay in bed for the rest of my life so I volunteered at to help re-build Hogwarts and it was a good distraction
I had been spending a lot of time with James, Lily and Harry trying to re connect as a family after all the years we had spent apart, it felt nice to finally spend some proper time together but a part of me is missing my parents
I had finally written them a letter explaining everything that happened, everyone that we had lost, how we've started to re-build our community's and how much I'd missed them but It feel enough
once I had sent the letter the muggle way special delivery I waited until two days later to call them
Flashback
I was sitting on my bed in my room at potters manor staring down at my phone debating weather to call my parents, I was so nervous and scared how it would go as so much time had past
I heard a knock at my door and I looked up to see James at the threshold with a smiled on his face, "call them cupcake, they love you and they'll be just happy to know your safe, I would be if it was me" he said
I smiled at him, "thanks papa" I said and his smiled grew wider as he left the room
I picked up my phone and breathed shakily as I pulled up my mom's contact in my old phone that once disconnected and pressed to call her
beep beep beep beep beep beep
"Hello" a woman's voice answered
"Mom" I whispered
"Oh my god Eli" she said
"It feels so good to hear your voice" I said tears pricking at my eyes
"I can't believe your alive, I've been so sacred that you were dead and I was never going to see you again" she said
"I'm sorry for not calling sooner, everything has just been chaos we are still recovering from the war" I said
"so it's finally over, you can come home" she asked
"yeah it's finally over but we are not out of the woods yet until we've caught the rest of Voldemort's inner circle" I said
"that doesn't matter right now all I care about is that your safe and alive" she said
"I love you so much mom and I've missed you so much" I said tears coming down my cheeks
"I love and miss you too so so much and I'm so proud of you baby, how's Fred is he there" mom asked
I stayed quiet for a few seconds, "Mom, Fred....Fred didn't make it" I said
"Oh baby I'm so sorry, I know how much you loved him" she said
"it's hard but I'm getting their, is dad there I wanna talk to him" I asked
"yeah sure baby hold on" she said as I heard movement
"Grayson get up here Grayson Gilbert get up here" I heard her shouting which made me laugh
"I'm coming hold on, geeze woman" he said as I heard my mom wacked him as he groaned
"what's all the fuss about" he asked
