As much as I wanted to say I was surprised I couldn't when I found out Elena hadn't really taken to being a vampire very well but who could blame her she alive but couldn't the life she truly wanted

thanks to Ric the council had found out about the vampire in this town before he died and they had rounded the known vampire and tried to get rid of them like in 1864

but with our help they escaped but things went from bad to worse when the next day an explosion at the young farm killed nearly member of the council except for me, Carol and Liz

it had been a great shock for the town as most of us had know the council since we were kids but despite all that drama I hadn't bee well recently I thought it could be just stress but now I wasn't sure so a trip to the hospital was in store

I sat in the waiting room fidgeting with my ring waiting thinking about the possibilities it could be when a tap on my shoulder brought me out of my thoughts and look up to see Dr Scolly smiling

I smiled, "Hey Doc sorry I was in my own world" I said apologetically

she laughed lightly, "it's not a problem Elly I remember how much of a thinker you were" she said

I smiled as I followed her into an exam room sitting on the chair opposite hers starting to fidget with my ring again

she sat down opposite me and smiled, "so what brings you in today Miss Gilbert" she asked

I groaned, "how many time Doc call me Elly, I feel like your talking to my mother," I said

she laughed, "ok sorry Elly what brings you here today," she said

"I just wanted you do a routine check up with it being winter I haven't been to good lately, sickness, tiredness and headaches plus having t pee all the time" I explained

she nodded typing away before she looked to me smiling, "Okay Elianna we have been here before with these symptoms so I'm gonna do an ultrasound before we go further" she said

I felt my heart drop, "you don't think I could be pregnant do you" I asked

she sighed, "it's a possibility but let's not get to worked up and we'll have a little look" she said

I nodded but I felt ever more nervous as I stood taking my coat off placing it next my bag beside the chair walking up to the exam table hoping up and laying down

Dr Scolly came over getting the machine set up before she brought out the evil cold goo as she noticed my glare on the bottle she laughed

"oh Elly still not fond of the goo" she said with a laugh as she lifted my top below my breast

I continued to glare, "it's evil goo it's had a tendency to make me jump" I said

she just smiled placing the goo over my stomach and picked up the wand swiping it over my stomach and looking at the screen

"I can't see the cause of your symptoms," she said but then she looked at the screen closer swiping the wand over one spot

I frowned, "Is everything alright?" I asked

she turned and smiled brightly at me, "well you haven't got an infection" she said

I looked at her confused, "then what is it" I asked looking at the screen

she pushed a button and an all too familiar sound echoed through the air as I shook my head no it wasn't possible it wasn't the first time let alone now vampires can't procreate

"I can't be pregnant I haven't had sex," I said shaking my head in denial

she looked at me with raised eyebrows, "are you sure" she asked

"well I have but he is infertile, he can't have kids I know I sound insane this but it's true," she said

"maybe a false diagnosis it can happen all the time but Elly you know that these machines don't lie you are pregnant, I would say about four weeks" she said

turning my head I looked towards the screen, "four weeks sounds about right" I whispered

"Maybe fate is telling you something like after all the hard times you've been through this baby is giving you something you've always dreamed off" she said

"maybe," I said not taking my eyes off the screen

she turned getting some blue role wiping off the goo off and pulling my shirt down before turning back to the machine turning it off before she turned to me with two-piece of white card with the hospital name and logo

I looked at her confused but took them anyway, "what's this" I asked

she smiled, "your ultrasound pictures baby's first picture, I thought you might like one with one for daddy" she said

I opened one up to see the outline of my baby but two thoughts came to my head at that moment one was what Bonnie had said and another was who the father was

I had slept with Kol and Elijah within days of each other so it was gonna be a hard thing to determine on my own but despite all that I felt happy and a little worried

I looked up to Dr Scolly with worry across my face, "I'm so scared that I'm gonna lose this baby" I said

her eyes soften, "it's normal for mother who have been through what you have to be scared about but is there something else that's worrying you" she asked

sighing, " I slept with two people within a few day in a moment of weakness, I feel like such a failure already and now this" I said looking down

"your not a failure Elly all I see is a young girl trying to live after being through a hard time, sex is perfectly normal" she said

I smiled at her but despite her trying to reassure me deep down I was so worried how everyone was going to react especially Kol and Elijah

"would knowing the due date help me figure out who the dad is or is there another way where I could find out for sure" I asked filled with hope

"if it was only within days of each other it might not help but I can book you in for a non-invasive paternity test which I do which will determine the father" she said

I thought about it, "will it harm the baby" I asked

she shook her head, "no it's completely safe all I need is a vial of your blood and sample from both possibility fathers" she said

I nodded, "well that doesn't sound to bad considering" I said as I jumped off the exam table slipping on my jacket walking towards the door

"I'll set you up an appointment for the paternity test and another one for your twelve week scan and I'll be in touch with the detail and hopefully daddy can maki it" she said

"thank you Dr Scolly for everything I'll see you then and walked out the room shutting the door behind me

I got my keys out of my bag and head to the car as 6 Bonnie's house was my next destination because in my mind I needed answers.
