"don't stand on ceremony blondie, what was the message," Damon said

"the sacrifice happens tonight," she said"

Present

my eyes winded in fear, "what no you can't let it happen, we have to save her Damon I can't lose anybody else" I said as a contraction split through my stomach

"Oooohhh aaahh " I moaned as I squeezed Damon's hand

a smirk slipped through Caroline's lips and rolled her eyes, "Damon we need you right now, Elena need's you" she said stressing Elena's name

I rolled my eyes but when I looked to Damon something that I couldn't identify crossed through his eyes which made me sigh, "Go I'll be fine, besides doc said we are in for a long few hours" I said

Damon looked at me with worry, "are you sure I'll come straight back I promise" he said

I nodded, "I'm sure, my sister needs you she needs all the help she can get right now," I said

he nodded he looked towards Caroline, "I'll meet you back at the boarding house I'll be there soon I just need to check in with the doctor soon" he said

she scoffed before nodded and leaving the room with one last glare my way, I scoffed not understanding her problem with me

Damon shook his head at her antics before turning his attention back to me kissing my forehead, "I'll come straight back when it's all over" he said

I nodded and grabbed his hand, "protect my family Damon" I said as he nodded and left

I sighed watching leave before placing my hands to where my son was kicking and looked down, "it's just you and me now baby" I said smiling as he kicked my hand

Hours later

It had been long few since Damon had left, my contraction had been getting worse but as luck would have it after Meredith had finished her shift she called Eva and they had come to keep me company

Dr Scolly had been in and out keeping an eye of us especially since the babies heartrate had gone up which had me worried until she able to get down a bit but she still on alert

for the past half an hour I had been trying to get Damon on his cell for the past few hours but I've no such luck and I was starting to get worried as he had been gone ten hours now and the full moon was glaring down at me

I tried calling Damon again but all I got was his voice message, I groaned and slammed my phone in the bed in frustration

"Still no answer," Meredith said seat beside my bed

shaking my head, "no I know what somethings up I can feel it, but nobody is answering" I said with worry

she stood up and sat on the side on my bed placing her hand on mine, "I'm sure that he has a perfectly good reason to why he's not answering" she said

"I know but I just keep thinking, what if he doesn't make it in time for the birth" I said bringing my hand to my belly as a contraction radiated through me

Mer looked at me worried, "Elly are you okay" she asked

I nodded and put my thumb up, "oooohhh, aaahh" I said as the machine started beeping wildly

I don't think I could remember ever feeling pain like this before I wished I could have Damon here

a massive wave of pain licked across my body, "Aaaaahhhh, please somebody get Dr Scolly in here now" I shouted through the pain

Mer rushed up from her seat into the hall shouting for Dr Scolly and a few seconds she along with Mer came running into the room with another nurse

"What's wrong," she asked looking at the machine with my chart in her hand but I just shook my head trying to take deep breaths

I could tell Mer was nervous, "she was fine we were talking then she got another contraction and all of a sudden the monitors start beeping and she in server pain" she said all in a rush

Dr Scolly nodded, "lie back for me Elly so I can do an exam and see what's going on" she said as Mer come over and sat beside me holding my hand

I nodded while laying back as she opened my legs gently before feeling the slight pressure of her fingers while she did the exam

before I knew she was done and pulled back looking to the nurse who nodded and left the room, I looked to her confused as she covered me up again

"what's wrong," I asked as Mer squeezed my hand

"Elly your 10cm dilated so it seems your baby is ready to make his way into the world" she said as the nurse came back into the room pulling up the sides of my bed

Dr Scolly gave me a smile, "right Elly let's get you up to a delivery suit I assume Damon is on his way" she asked

I shrugged, I don't know, I've been calling him for the past half hour and he hasn't answered once" I said

"why don't you send him a message and we'll let the nurses know to look out for him" she said

I nodded and picked up my phone,

Damon,

It's time to meet our son, going to delivery

Please hurry, can't do this without you

as soon as I sent the message I turned off my phone I slipped it back into my bag that was going into the locked cupboard next to my bed

I sighed as Dr Scolly smiled, "you ready to meet your son" she asked

I smiled at her, "as I'll ever be" I said

nodding she, the nurse and Mer rolled me out and into the hall rolling the bed down towards the delivery suit and one step closer to meeting my son

but a the back of my mind I was hoping that Damon was on his way as I would never forgive myself if he missed the birth of his only son his only child.
