Waking up the next morning I realized it was Elena and Jeremy's first day of senior and sophomore year making me think about how fast this year has gone and everyhthing that has happened
I jumped out of bed grabbing my robe and slipping it on as I made my way downstairs and into the kitchen in search of some coffee when I noticed Jeremy, Elena and Alaric already down
"Oh dear Alaric I hope your not drinking all my coffee," I asked with an amused glare
he turned to me laughing nervously, " uhuh yeah about that" he said
I stared at him seriously for a moment, "oh I was only joking" I said with a laugh
he smiled before coming over to me bringing me in for a hug, "I had no idea your were back, how you been" he asked
I pulled back, "oh last night but my worried started to set when these clowns didn't rock up till midnight" I said shotting my siblings a look
he laughed and turned to them, "of come on haven't we apologized already" Jeremy said
I rolled my eyes, "yeah you did when I was to tired to argue" I said
Elena and Alaric laughed, "she's winding you up Jere" Elena said
he stopped his track with realization, "oh right I knew that" he said
we all laughed, "yeah of course you did baby bro" I said as I went over and poured myself a cup of coffee
as I took a sip I turned to the clock to see it was time for them to get going for school and I definitely didn't want to be the reason they were late on their first day
"I think you guys should be getting going if you don't want to be late" I said
their eyes winded as they looked at the clock "yeah, Bonnie should be here any moment no..." Elena started when she heard the car beep
she jumped down from the chair picking up her bad and coming over to give a kiss on the cheek along with Jeremy as they raced towards the door and as they opened it she shouted back
"see you later, love you El" they both said as the door closed behind them
I turned to Alaric, "well that went well I managed to get them off to school and there not going to be late" I said proudly
he smiled while laughing, "yeah well that's the joys of being a guardian" he said
I laughed, "just fyi I have not problem with you staying here I think Jenna would have wanted that" I said
he smiled, "thank you Elly it means a lot" he said
I waved my hand, "it's not like I would of have much say anyway" I said jokingly
"I guess I didn't think about that but this is your house to and I wouldn't want you to feel uncomfortable in your own home" he said
I put down my cup and put my hand on his, "you were so great to my siblings and Jenna when I couldn't be which I apricate more than you know, I may not know you well but this is a started" I said
I turned walking over to the sideboard pulling out a silver key and brining it over to Ric and giving it to him he took it with a confused look
I shook my head side to side, "it was John's key but he won't need it now so your welcome to, this is your house now" I said with a smile
