After a long evening of flights, I arrived in Jolly Old London in the morning. So, good morning reality. I was exhausted from the trip that I almost fell asleep in the cab. But of course, I made sure to tell Lewis and Kelly I landed safely.

When I got home, my mom immediately greeted me with a long hug, that I needed. She then proceeded to say some not so pleasant words about Brad, and for the first time, I did not stop her.

I got to my old room and it was packed full of my childhood items as well as some memorabilia from my teen years. Being back home felt nice, especially in these moments of sadness. My sister then dropped by with Oliver, and we all spent the rest of the day together. I took the chance to talk about my trip and gush about my newfound love for formula 1. Which Oliver was very excited about.

Tuesday

The next day, I woke up to a moving truck parked outside my mom's house. I found out that Brad had taken the liberty to move me out of our apartment himself. What a gentleman. I decided that enough was enough and set out to seek a new apartment in the city.

After a few calls with a real estate agent, I had a few showings for the day. Don't get me wrong, I love living with my mom, but I couldn't flood her house with my belongings. I got myself a cab and went straight to the first showing.

The first showing was less than impressive, so I moved on to the next, which fell short as well. Just as I was walking out of the second apartment building, I hear a very loud honk, followed by someone calling my name.

I look around and identify a bright orange McLaren. Inside a young man with soft curls and a wide grin, Lando Norris.

"Hey, Lando!" I said.

"Hey!" he replied, "hop in before the light turns green."

Without thinking twice, I got in his car and we were on our way.

"How are you?" I asked, "and did you get here?"

"I'm good," he responded, "last night, and I felt like going on a drive before I left for Bristol."

"With a car like this, who wouldn't?" I said while admiring the supercar.

He giggled and then asked, "How about you?"

"I'm apartment hunting," I said, "I was actually on my way to a third, would you like to join?"

"Got nothing better to do," he admitted, "let's go."

Lando and I talked a lot during the celebration. I'm very fond of him because he is like the little brother I never had. On our way there, I opened up to him about what was going on.

"Your mom was right, prick," he said and we both laughed.

"I know."

"But seriously though," he started to say as we parked, "you'll be fine. Before you know it, it'll a distant memory."

"I hope so," I said, "but first let's find me a place to stay."

Golden Square, Soho, I hope you are the one.

The building itself had a lot of charm from the out and it did not disappoint on the inside. We went upstairs to the apartment, and immediately I was sold. It had 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, all modern, with a gorgeous kitchen.

Lando and I both agreed that this was it and the realtor rushed to get the papers

Lando and I both agreed that this was it and the realtor rushed to get the papers. So we sat down and waited.

"Can I ask something?" he asked out of nowhere.

"Of course."

"So you and Lewis?"

"What about me and Lewis?"

"You know what I mean," he said, "don't play dumb."

I laughed and said, "I'm serious, what about us?"

"Were you that drunk that night?"

"Yes, I was."

"Okay then," he stated, "from where I was sitting there was a lot between you two."

"Care to elaborate further?"

"Well, you danced together," he said, "then spent a long time talking and making eyes at each other and based on what you told me, you were already single."

I fought hard to try to remember, but I was blank and I did remember the dance and chat but not the eyes or what I assume must've been flirting.  Before I could get any questions out, the realtor was back with the papers.

After everything was signed we went downstairs. I was still thinking about everything he had said.

"About what you were saying," I said, "Me and Lewis, nothing happened."

"But you do like him?" He asked and I smiled.

"Who's to say?" I responded, "maybe I do, but after everything I had thrown at me, I might need a break."

"Alright, I understand," he said, "but, as maybe one of the leading authorities on going too fast, don't wait too long."

I smiled and said, "I'll try."

"And please, get a car too,"

"Why would I get a car when I have you when you're in London?"

"I'm not always here."

"True," I said, "maybe next time we'll go car shopping,"

"I like the sound of that."

From there, we said our goodbyes and parted ways, he went home to Bristol and I went back to my mom's.

When I arrived, my mom had a friend over. She had a blonde and grey-haired pixie cut hairdo, her eyes were small, and a kind smile. They were both sat down on the dining room table and it had an impressive assortment of teas and cakes.

"Darling, welcome back," my mom said, "this is my friend Carmen."

"Hello, Carmen," I cheerfully said and hugged her.

"Hello, dear," she said, "your mom was just speaking about you."

"All good I hope," I said and my mom signalled for me to join them and so I did.

"Why yes of course," she responded, "but I am quite sorry about your break up."

I widen my eyes at my mom, for she just shared something extremely private with someone I didn't know yet.

"Don't get crossed with your mother," Carmen said, "I was just telling her how worried I was that my son is still single."

"Exactly," my mom quickly said, "and he sounds like a great boy."

"He will come to pick me up," she stated, "you'll see for yourself."

So I and my polite manner, took her up on her offer not to be rude. But if I'm being honest, Lando had me thinking about Lewis a little extra harder.

Being an overthinker is a lifestyle, not a choice.
