Shakedown is an F1 term meaning,
"A brief test is when a team is trying a different car part for the first time before going back out to drive at 100 percent to set a fast time."
This story is filled with the twist and turns of when we risk it all a...
Good morning, a day off. Tomorrow I'm going to Monaco with Lewis. I'm excited for us to have that time alone, as well as to see Kelly and Max. I had never been to Monaco, but I always heard good things about it. Brad always raved about how it was the home of F1, and models I worked with, said it was best to place to be during a race. Even though I wasn't going during a race, I was still excited.
After Lewis left to get ready, I started working with Susan and my stylist. We planned outfits and packed for the trip. I didn't know how long I was gonna stay there, so we didn't pack light.
When the time came, I went to the bridal shop where Zan, and my mom, were already there waiting for me.
"Hello, ladies," I greeted, "ready for some shopping?"
"Let's go for it!" Zan cheered.
We all took the time to go through the dresses in the store before selecting a few for her to try on. She got into the changing room and started to try them.
Outside, my mom and I were lounging in the couches, being served champagne, and awaiting the reveal.
"So, how's Lewis?" my mom asked.
"He's great," I answered, "he's going to Monaco with me tomorrow."
"Uhh, romantic getaway," Zan yelled from the dressing room.
"Do you have super hearing or something?" I asked her.
"Maybe," she said, walking out with her first dress, "what do you think?"
It wasn't the best dress, so I struggled to answer and said, "Ahm, it's interesting but..."
"It's not it, honey," my mom interfered with her bluntness.
"Alright, let's see the next," she said, walking back to the dressing room.
"Are you excited that you're now a couple?" my mom asked.
"Of course," I admitted, "you saw how amazing he is, and every day it keeps getting better."
"I'm glad sweetheart," she said, "you see how Carmen and I can be matchmakers?"
"Yes, mom, you guys were right," I giggled.
"How's the media treating you?" Zan asked from the dressing room.
"Well, I had a paparazzi ambush yesterday," I responded, "but I think it was for the Elle cover."
"Does this mean you're officially a celebrity?" my mom asked.
"I don't know," I replied, "I guess we'll have to wait and see."
After she tried 5 different dresses, we were about to give up. Then my mom got up and picked a dress from the window. This dress was perfect. I was the perfect shade of white, the details in the beading were impressive, and it all complimented her perfectly.
"Ohh, Zan," I said, "it's perfect."
"I love it too," she said.
The consultant brought out the matching veil and tiara. All of it together brought us all to tears. That's when we knew it was the one. After taking her measurements for some adjustments, I decided to take them out for an afternoon tea.
I took them to my favourite afternoon tea place at the Oblix West, The Shard. It has some of the best views of West London, as well as some tasty pastries.
