Chapter 5

Caterina 

I was in my thoughts as I felt a tap on my hand from Tina, I turned towards her and she made a move with her head in front of us. I turned to find both of the boys looking at me and saw Luca let out a chuckle "I think if it's between you and the cake she would pick the cake" Dmitri said to Luca which I looked confused a little but let a little smile.

"I mean you can't blame me can you" I said taking a bite from my cake looking at Luca "And we still don't know who's marrying who" I blurted out and wanted to take back because the boys looked at each other.

"We get to pick, so if you have a preference it's now or never" Dmitri said with a teasing smile to which I let out a chuckle "Okay, well we would need to do a little thinking about that" I said looking towards Luca the Dmitri trying to take a random pick like I'm picking candies from the store.

Luca looks like he is not much of a talker and more like a silent emotion speaker which might work well but Dmitri is more friendly and more likely to work if we were having a business type relationship because trust me I'm not looking for an actual relationship in this and though mama and papa got lucky in the whole arrange marriage thing that was only because they already knew each other before marriage. I knew for a very long time that an arrange marriage for me will be nothing more than a business relationship. Luca would probably be a stricter husband and follow the rules husband while Dmitri might actually let me do things I want.

I was in my thoughts as I heard papa's voice and before I looked around the table trying to figure out what was happening and saw Luca look at me and said "Caterina" to which papa smiled widely and Victor spoke "Great then Dmitri and Valentina's wedding can be in 2 weeks while Luca and Caterina's wedding can be 2 weeks after that" he said looking at us with a big smile.

What in what now, I thought I was getting the pick... uh hello dude what's happening I tried to push my elbow towards Tina who looked at with the same reaction I had "I thought we were picking" I whispered and she looked at me "Papa asked Luca to pick and he picked you, Dmitri picked me" she whispered back and I looked at Luca who gave me an unreadable look.

"So, in conclusion you and me are marrying hairless bears 2 weeks apart, a straight ticket to hell" I whispered back to Tina to which she nodded drinking a big sip of her wine.

Well, there goes my hope of picking Dmitri, and my soon to be husband is looking like me like he either wants to kill me or eat me and I'm pretty sure is neither because he definitely picked me for a reason and I wonder what that is.

The dinner ended after a few minutes and papa decided to have a small gathering session at the seating area. Papa had the helpers open up the glass door to the pool so we had an open seating area.

Victor and papa was having their own conversation together near the pool while papa assigned me and Tina the job to show Luca and Dmitri around the house which clearly was a way to make us talk privately but what in the world are we to talk about.

"And this is the gaming room" Tina took over the tour as I felt intimidated from the way Luca was looking at me. Dmitri walked in the gaming room looking around as he asked Tina a few questions and I ended up standing near the door way with Luca still staring at me.

"You're staring a lot, is there something on my face?" I muttered up the courage and started the conversation. He let a soft chuckle as he turned away towards the room then back to me "Well I'm just trying to remember my to be wife's features" he said to which I frown.

"Features? Why are there way too many girls to keep track off that you're memorizing my features" I asked to which he just smirked "I feel sorry for your sister" he said looking towards where Tina and Dmitri stood and found Tina glaring at Dmitri while he was just smiling back at her.

"I think she might say the same, she wanted to pick you anyway" I said as I remembered Tina saying she wanted Luca though jokingly. He looked at me "Well too bad krasivaya, I picked you" he said and I caught he said something in Russian.

"What?" I asked to which he gave me a look "You said something at the end" I replied "Oh, krasivaya" he said it in that slang of Russian making it sound so appealing.

"What does it mean?" I asked to which he just smiled as he stepped closer making me step back hitting the doorway "That's for me to know and for you to find out krasivaya" he whispered and turned away.

"Come on brother, you can win her heart later" he called out to his brother who then said something toTina and walked out too "I hate him" I heard Tina said from behind me making me just shake my head. 

The whole after session ended quite quick as we ended our tour and made our way downstairs. I saw papa so up in the mood talking with Victor, is then I realised he is really happy with this who arrangement and if papa is happy I am too but I don't know about Valentina because she was sitting there all moody by the end of the day.

Before leaving Victor invited all over for dinner at one of his restaurants the day after tomorrow which my parents gladly accepted and right after they left Valentina went right to her room without saying a word. Papa sighed watching Valentina go "Talk some sense into your sister will you" he said to me before leaving the room.

After helping mama with some work, I decided it was time for bed anyway. So, I made my way upstairs trying to drag my dress along with me but froze at my heels when I heard Tina from our room "You think I don't know that, we have to do it, there's no choice now" who in the world is she talking to.

I moved silently towards the door trying to hear better "I have to go, you know this is not our scheduled call time" she whispered in a hush tone but hearing footsteps behind me she became silent.

I turned to find papa "Is everything okay Rina?" he asked to which I just smiled "Yes papa just getting to bed, good night papa" I said to which he smiled and took off to his hallway that leads to my parent's room.

I opened the door and entered to find Tina nowhere to be seen, not knowing what to do with what I heard I remained silent and sat at my vanity. What she doing? Should I tell papa? What was she talking about? What is she planning? Is she crazy?. I was long lost in my thoughts when I heard Tina's bathroom door open.

"Oh, that shower was clearly what I needed, the damn new heels was digging into my poor feet" she complained as she sat on her bed rubbing her feet.

"That's exactly what I need right now" I said out softly hoping she didn't notice my tone, I removed the pins that were holding my hair up. "You okay Rina?" she asked to which I turned to her and actually debated asking her.

"Are you- Are you hiding something from me?" I asked and I knew the moment that look crossed her eyes that she was thinking about it, she is lying but why. She sat there looking at me for a while but snapped a smile back before she thinks I could notice but I already did.

"What, what are you talking about Rina" she asked softly to which then I decided that I will let her lie to my face, only just because I wanted herself to come clean to me willingly. I know my sister and I know her very well, if she has something to hide she will tell me it sooner or later.
