As soon as I stepped out from the house I dialled Dmitri and placed the phone on speaker as I started the car "How's the early honeymoon going brother" he said as soon as he picked up.

"Something's not right" I said in a serious tone and I'm sure he knew that tone because he was silent for a moment as if he was trying to get away to somewhere private to talk. "What do you mean" he said in a serious tone but I still heard some rustling as if he was still moving yet keeping his voice down.

"Either someone is hunting her or one of our enemies is trying to get to me" I said and Dmitri was silent for second and I took that my que to continue "We were attacked by a sniper, I can't say if it was aimed at me or her" I finished as I drove through the forest.

"Does she have a tracker on her?" he asked "I removed them and what's even weirder is..." I debated whether I should keep it to myself for now or should I tell Dmitri "What is it?" I heard him ask and I realised that I was silent for too long.

"Valentina called her phone, and" I sighed "This is so messed up, I didn't understand one shit she said" I gripped the steering a little harder "Start from what beginning" he asked and I mentally re ran the conversation in my head.

"She didn't know it was me, Caterina was sleeping and I just answered- she started asking forgiveness as if she was forced to pull the shit she did, she wanted Caterina to leave her trackers and get out of her house" I sighed.

"What else?" and I started to think if I was missing something "She said something like... something she didn't have a choice, her papa made her do it..." I tried to say the exact words Valentina used.

"We found a certificate, Masters in Criminal Justice from Pennsylvania State University under the name Valentina Ashley Ellis" now that was not what I was expecting "How did she get a masters without anyone knowing, and that's not her actual name".

I said as I stopped at a parking lot in front of the closest grocery we had. "Not a clue, her records are all hidden, however she did it, she had some help hiding the whole thing just we don't know who" I heard him say ending it with a sigh.

"Something doesn't fit" I said but he cut me off "That's not all" he said making me shut up waiting for him to continue but I heard him sigh "She is off the chart, we can't find her, it's like she disappeared in thin air" and that made me sigh this is not going to be as easy as I thought. "I'm not at Yevgeny's safe house, keep this between us and watch Nikolai and dad, something about this whole thing and him is not right" I said ending the call without waiting for his response.

I was pissed, no that was just what I was feeling externally, internally I'm burning that there was an attempt on my fiancé well we weren't engaged officially yet but still my woman anyhow.
