Chapter 15

Caterina

I slowly woke up to find myself tucked in the front seat of Luca's car and saw that we were driving on a highway to somewhere "You're awake" I heard Luca from beside me and as I turned to shift I felt I hint of pain at my back reminding me what happened before.

"I will hurt for a few days, don't make sudden movements or the stitches could tear" he said figuring out my pain from just looking at me which till now I don't know how he understands me with just looking at me. "Where are we going?" my voice came out a little rough so I reached towards the water bottle that was near my seat.

Taking a sip of it made my throat come back alive again. "To a place where no one would find you" he said looking at me with a smile "Seems like you like this place or you're actually taking me there so you can secretly kill me and bury me away" I said sarcastically earning a chuckle from him, I turned to see him and his smile damn how can someone smile like that, I snapped out of my thoughts and turned away before he could catch me looking at him.

"So, we are reaching or are we still far?" I asked to which he just pointed towards a mountain hill. I looked at it trying to figure out what he was pointing and found that it was a house, a very tiny house from where we are but it was a house alright.

I didn't even realise that we were in another car more specifically in a jeep which is how we drove up the steep hill and right now we stopped in front one of the most gorgeous house I had ever seen.

It was all white and had dark brown wooden accents around making it even more beautiful. I sat in the car staring at the house while I heard Luca got down grabbing out things. He came over to my side of the door and opened it for me.

"Come on" he said gesturing me out. "Took you long enough to visit brother" a voice came from the house and I turned to find a girl either almost the same age as me or a little younger.

She smiled as she walked closer looking at me "This is my sister, Anastasia" Luca said making me a little surprise that he brought me here without saying and I thought his sister was abroad studying. "Call me Anna, you must be Caterina" she said with a soft smile towards me making me smile back as well.

"Come on in" she guided me inside and I turned to see Luca getting the rest of the things from the jeep. When I said the outside of the house was pretty that was not all, the inside of the house was gorgeous. It had a cottage feel to the house but yet it was modern in some way.

Anna led me towards the kitchen "Want something to drink?, I'm sure you're dead tired from that ride" she said opening her fridge "Juice?" I smiled and nodded as a reply. "Thank you" I said as she placed a glass of I'm assuming orange juice in front of me.

"How did you survive that long of a car ride with that idiot" she said making me chuckle "I can hear you" Luca's voice came from the living room making me giggle. "I think I slept most of the way" I said in a softer voice gaining a smile from her.

As Luca went upstairs somewhere me and Anna had some small talks about our likes and dislikes and come to think of it we are quite similar in our likings. "There she is!" a voice came out from the living room giving me a jump.

"Don't scare her, you idiot" Anna scolded this tall looking man in the room. He would look scary as Luca if only he didn't have that smile on his face right now. He looked a little familiar though I couldn't catch from where. He did have beautiful dark green eyes which caught my attention under the light, they almost looked like mama's eyes.

I really do miss her, I wonder what thoughts must be going through her head. I was in my thoughts when "You must be the all and all popular Caterina" he said smiling at me as he walked in the kitchen grabbing a drink from the fridge.

Taking in my confused face Anna introduced him "This is Alexander, Luca's 2nd in command and also his best friend" she said as she slapped his hand from drinking the juice from the carton "Use a glass you pig" she scolded again this time making me chuckle at their behaviour.

Alexander smiled even more "Now I get why he is crazy of you, you're way prettier in person than I thought" he said making me frown who is crazy of me?

"You can call me Alex by the way" he said walking out with the whole carton of juice in his hand. I heard Anna sigh "Don't mind him, he is the biggest idiot among the rest of the group" she said making me curious of who else there is.
