Chapter 23

Caterina

After taking a shower I came out and decided to go and see if Tina is okay. Luckily I remembered the room she was in so I made it there without any problem. I knocked but no one answered so I turned the knob peeking in.

Tina lay there with a wire through her hand attached to some kind of drips beside her. I turn to see if anyone else was in the room but found no one so I walked in taking a seat beside the bed.

Her face was still pale, but at least it wasn't as how I saw her bleeding out in the garden. She had a little colour back but yet her lips were dry. Other than her breathing making her chest move up and down there were no other signs of her moving.

I touched her hand softly it was slightly cold so I took her hand fully trying to give her some warmth "I-I'm sorry" I said softly remembering how I screamed at her the last time. That can't be the last conversation I have with her.

"P-Please w-wake up, I know you only did it for me" I felt my eyes tear up "I was just angry you didn't tell me, but now I don't care anymore just please wake up" I said as I brush her hair away from her forehead.

I saw her forehead squint a little "Tina" I called her and I saw her eyes moved under her lids "Tina, wake up" I stood up looking at her for any sign of consciousness.

I saw her eyes open and she blinked a few times taking in her surrounding "Tina, can you hear me" I asked her softly blinking away my tears. "R-Rina" her voice came out rough "W-water" she said and I quickly turned around towards the bed side table to pour her a glass of water.

"Here" I slowly lifted her head helping her drink, she almost finished the entire glass. She grunted as she tried to sit up "Don't move you idiot" I scolded her as I tried to help her sit up comfortably. "I got shot and you're still scolding me" she said making me glare at her.

"What, doesn't this get me a free pass out of your anger" she said pouting "You're so lucky I can't hit you right now" I said looking at her and she pouted more.

"I almost bled to death, you have to forgive me now" she said making me pinch her. "Ouch" she whined "Come on, I just wanted you safe that was all I wanted" she said sadly "It killed me keeping it from you but I couldn't bear of seeing you hurt finding out the truth then" she said making my eyes tear up again.

"Fine you're forgiven just don't scare me like that... ever again" I said sternly making her chuckle but she ended in a grunt "I'll remember to tell the people who wants me dead to not shoot me next time okay" she smiled making me smile too.

She reached up wiping my tears "Now stop crying you cry baby" she said making me tear up some more "Come here" she patted beside her but I shook my head "You're hurt" I said softly but she patted again "I'm not hurt that much that I can't give my crying sister a hug" she said making me smile softly.

I slowly sat on the bed without trying to jostle or move her and as soon as I did she pulled me into a hug making me break down on her shoulder. She rubbed my back "You really are a cry baby, what would you do without me" she said in a teasing tone making me lightly tap her back "Stop teasing" I said hugging her back.

"I love you" I said because it was really all I wanted to tell her when she told me that laying there half dead I felt her hug me tighter as she rubbed my back "I love you too mia sorella" and we just sat there for I don't know how long.

I heard the door open and saw Anna peeking through the door "Hey" she said softly "Are you feeling better?" she asked Valentina as she slowly stepped in the room. Valentina smiled "Your brother had his use after all" she said to Anna making me chuckle. "Oh no he is just as useless" Anna said making us both laugh.

"You know it's not nice to tease the handsome man who saved your life" Dmitri said from behind Anna. "Handsome? I don't see it" Valentina said making Dmitri smirk "Oh honey you see it, just don't want to accept it... yet" he said towards her with a coy smile making me look at Valentina then back at Dmitri.

Ohhh, is that spice I sense. I thought smiling at them both. I felt Tina nudge me with her elbow "Stop smiling, it's getting creepy" she whispered to me making me chuckle "Is there some tension between you two that I should know about" I asked her with my teasing smile which she totally ignored "Shut up" she said making me chuckle.
