"Hello love birds" Caterina flinched at Dmitri who was walking in from the back door "Can you be any more obvious" I said looking at him because though sometimes he does catch me by surprise, most of the time I know when he moves around silently like that.

He looked at me and then back at Caterina then back at me "What? Spit it out" I said because he had that look on his face as if he is debating whether he should say something or not. He looked at Caterina "Valentina..." he dragged "She had your name for the Witness Protection Program under the CIA" and there we go again more surprises.

"What?" what in the world is she planning "It makes no sense to me either, I have no shit clue of what she is planning but it's obvious she is trying to get her out" Dmitri walked over to the kitchen counter placing his medical box which I didn't notice him walk in with.

Right, he is here for the tracker "Can I see where it is?" he asked Caterina as he washed his hands at the sink. Caterina nodded and she turned around in her seat letting Dmitri check. I had a weird feeling watching my brother touch her, what the fuck is wrong with me.

"Damn" he said as he turned around taking out some things from the box he brought in "Here take this" he held a few pills in his hands "You did eat right?" he asked as she took the pills in her hand. She nodded as he passed her a bottle of water and she looked at pills suspiciously.

"It's for the pain, it will make you a little oozy but you'll thank me later for it" she nodded again but before taking the pills she looked at me "You won't leave right?" she asked making my heart do a sort of flip that she wants me near, I made my way towards her "I'll be here the whole time, I'm not going anywhere".

God this girl is making me soft with her words. I saw Dmitri smirk as he gathered his things.

"We should do it there" he pointed at the sofa. Dmitri started setting up his things in a little table beside the sofa as we walked over. "You want to sit or do you want to lay down?" he asked Caterina but she turned and looked at me as if asking for an answer.

"Come on" I guided her to the sofa and sat down first looking at her I patted the space between my legs what am I doing? "Woah there brother, are you trying to do the dirty right in front of me" Dmitri smirked at me to which I shushed him and looked at Caterina who was still debating it.

"I can hold you up so you don't move and hurt yourself during it" I said and saw her sway a little and showed that the medicine was starting to kick in. She slowly took a few steps closer and I reached to pull her down before she actually fell because it looked like the medicine was stronger than I thought. She had her legs across one of my legs as she leaned her head on my shoulder.

Dmitri moved her hair and her dress out of the way. He disinfected the area and I felt Caterina stiffened as she reached up to grip my shirt in one of her hands "It'll be okay, just try to relax".

I tried to calm her and though I knew the medication was making her drowsy, but she was still conscious. Dmitri nodded at me and I slowly held one arm around her head so she doesn't jerk up and one around her waist and arms.

I watched as he sliced her skin making her dark red blood stain her pale skin at her back and that did such weird thing to my heart. I wanted to rip away the knife from Dmitri and stab him with it but I knew he was helping her so I refrain from doing so.

I felt Caterina grip my shirt harder as she let out a little sob "Shh almost there lyubov', almost done" she was nowhere near done but least I can do is making her think it was almost over.

She held on to me even more as she moved her head closer to my neck and that made me freeze up damn that feels... no dude no, what in the world idiot I mentally cursed myself and turned to see Dmitri doing whatever he needed to do.

I heard Caterina groan out as she tried to move away from my hold but I leaned in leaving kisses on her head without me even realising I was doing so "Shh, you're doing so well love, just a little more" as soon I said that "Done" Dmitri said as he held up a tiny bloody tracker.

"Just the stitches and we're done baby" I said leaving a kiss on her head again and this time I realised what I have been doing baby, love, lyubov', what in the world was I doing and was I kissing her?, holy shit I was kissing her... did Dmitri see that.

I snapped my eyes up to Dmitri and he looked up at me smirking then continued with the stitches. He tapped her up and once he was done I felt Caterina lean into me more as she fell unconscious either from all that exhaustion or the medication or even both.

I moved her a little so she would be comfortable but still let her lean on my shoulder because my damn heart was enjoying it so much. I looked at her sleeping face trying to pin point the weird feeling this girl does to me every damn time.

I heard a chuckle from the kitchen "You're so whipped brother, you can't even take your eyes off her" Dmitri said as he washed his hands then made his way towards the sofa opposite of me. I didn't comment to what Dmitri said because I really am a goner for this girl, and she did nothing but lay here asleep in my arms and yet I feel such weird things in my heart.

"Was the sniper for me or her?" I asked softly not wanting to wake Caterina. I watched my brother's eyes darken as he looked at me I knew he would have gotten the sniper checked as soon as I told him we had an attack. "Her" Dmitri said in a darker tone looking at Caterina.

"It's not Valentina, she wouldn't put Caterina in the Witness Protection Program if she wanted her sister dead" he said looking at me this time. "If it's not her then who? Her father? What does Nikolai have against his own daughter?" I asked looking at Caterina asleep, so peaceful in my arms. "And what Witness Protection Program, what in the world are they hiding?" I asked frustrated that I couldn't figure out this whole thing.

Dmitri sighed "All I can say, Valentina knows something, she's been planning this for years. There's no way that something like this popped out of nowhere, the only question is why and why now?" he said and stood walking over to his medical kid.

"I should go, and you guys should leave too. I'll deactivate this, he won't be able to track it once it is done" he finished showing me the little tracker he had put in a tiny bottle. "Be safe, we'll figure this out" he said to me then looked down at Caterina in my arms before he left. I sighed and gathered Caterina in my arms to leave.
