PROTECT

ANDREA slid the door to Derek's loft open, wanting to grab some of her stuff that she managed to leave the other day before they fought the Alpha Pack.

Just as the door slid open, the girl sensed something flying toward her, immediately she ducked. The object ended up crashing onto the wall behind her, and Andrea look up only to find a familiar figure standing a few feet away from here.

"Andrea!" the woman who had been only wearing an oversized t-shirt exclaimed in surprise, her eyes wide with her mouth slightly agape. "Oh, my God. I'm so sorry, I thought you were a robber or—"

"Miss Blake?" Andrea questioned, furrowing her eyebrows out of confusion. Andrea didn't know if she was seeing things, or if that was Ms. Blake. But that couldn't have been her English teacher, could it?

What was her teacher even doing in Derek's lof—

The girl's thoughts was interrupted when a familiar figure stepped out of the shadows, making a hand fly up to her mouth to cover her cry. Her other hand was gripping onto the door, because right now, she could barely feel her legs.

She must have been really seeing things. Because who she saw wasn't possible.

It was Derek.

And Derek was supposed to be dead.

"D-Derek?" Andrea called out, practically whispering out of disbelief. The girl hadn't blink, afraid that once she does the man would go away.

The girl didn't even think and instantly sprinted across the room, crashing into Derek and wrapped him in a rib-crushing hug. Tears began to flood her eyes as joy filled her chest, almost over whelming it.

"You—you're alive. H-how?"

"Jennifer helped me," he sighed, pulling away from the werejaguar. "Honestly, I wasn't even sure I would make it."

"Jennifer helped you?" the Laurent girl questioned, her eyebrows raised in suspicion. "As in my English teacher, Jennifer?"

"Yeah," the feminine voice piped up from behind them, raising a hand awkwardly. "That's me."

"Huh," Andrea muttered, crossing an arm across her chest as she shifted her gaze at Derek, glaring at the older man. "Talk."

And so the Alpha began telling Andrea everything that had happened, but the two had already moved to the table. He told her about how he woke up next to Ennis, his wounds not healing, finding Miss Blake—who he called Jennifer—and sleeping with her.
