BAD PLAN

ANDREA had been staying in the hospital for the past day, not doing anything besides sitting down and occasionally pacing around. Ever since her brother made it out of surgery the night before, she hadn't stepped out of the building—though she still made time to check on Isaac for a little bit.

Melissa had come in to check on them multiple times during her shift and even dropped off some food for her, which she was really grateful for because she almost forgotten about eating.

It was almost eight o'clock at night when Ava came into Nathan's room, carrying a duffle bag full of change clothes and a lunch bag for the girl to eat. Noticing the older's presence made Andrea stood up and smiled, "Hey."

"Hey, sweetheart," Ava replied with a faint smile, pulling her into a hug. "How's he?"

Andrea took a deep breath before responding, "Nothing fatal, thank God."

"That's good," the woman moved to sat herself down on the corner of the room, and started to unpack the food she brought. "Come on, Andy, Eat."

"I can't," she shook her head quietly. "I don't have an appetite."

"You still have to eat," Ava insisted. "You're worrying about two people at the same time, that's gotta be draining."

It took a few more arguing before the youngest Laurent finally gave up and began to eat, which made Ava very happy because the woman work hard on cooking the food—or at least that was what she said.

"Ava," Andrea called by the time she finished her food. "You're a lawyer, right?"

The woman frowned upon hearing the question, but nodded as an answer, "Yes. Why? Do you have trouble with the law that I need to know about?"

"Well, not me," she replied. "But I know someone who does."

The confusion on Ava's face became more obvious, "Who?"

"Chris Argent and Derek Hale."

"Lucas told me about them," the woman stated. "Framed for the murder of a Japanese Yakuza named Katashi, right?"

Andrea nodded, "That's the one."

"I was already planning on going there tomorrow morning, you know."

The younger frowned when hearing that, "Really? Wow, that didn't take a lot of convincing."

"I owe Chris," Ava replied before smiling at the girl. "But that's a story for another day. For now, you have to get some rest."

The woman had promised that he would take care of Nathan, and would wake Andrea up if anything happened to him—and thankfully, nothing did. Nathan spent the night sleeping peacefully, and so did Andrea.
