GOODBYES

THE following couple of days had been hard on everyone.

Losing Allison had taken its toll on all of the pack members, and though Andrea hadn't been as close to Allison as Lydia or Scott was—she still cared for the huntress deeply, and she was hurt when knowing that Allison was gone.

The day of Allison's funeral wasn't a day like any others. Lots and lots of tears were shed, and it seemed like the sky shared their grief, because it rained merely minutes after the girl's body was put to the ground.

Two whole weeks had passed since then, and the grief didn't seem to be leaving any of them any time soon.

Andrea and Isaac's flight was scheduled to leave at eight o'clock at night. Yes, they were finally leaving Beacon Hills—though they didn't stay true to their word of leaving the day after they caught the nogitsune.

They were going to France with Chris Argent, who seemed totally fine of them tagging along. Andrea knew that he wanted a reminder of his daughter, and two of her closest friends were a living, breathing reminder of Allison.

She stood just a few feet away from where Lucas stood, facing the huntress' headstone. He had been coming back there repeatedly since she was buried. Though Andrea couldn't blame him, he deeply cared for the girl as well.

Andrea wasn't sure if what he felt for Allison was love or simple affection. Either way, Allison's death must have taken a huge toll on the boy. More than he was willing to admit.

"Ace," the girl called out softly, tapping the boy's shoulder once they were side by side. "Hey."

"Hey," Lucas let out a smile, giving her a quick hug. "I thought your flight was today."

"I was going to come and say goodbye," Andrea replied, then glanced to the headstone. "To you and Allison."

"I'm going to miss you, you know," Lucas muttered, their eyes locking as he said the last word. He let out a soft chuckle. "God, I don't know what to say. What are you even supposed to say when your best friend's leaving?"

"Nothing," Andrea stated sternly. "Because this isn't goodbye, Ace. This is—"

He raised an eyebrow, "See you later?"

"See you later," the girl nodded, agreeing.

Though the two of them were smiling at each other, the thought of separating was still painful to them both. They were the best of friends, and they still would be even when they were over four thousand miles away.
