Act IV
Scene I
[Fade in]
A mere day after the roles of the play were announced, a meeting was being held for the cast. This would happen every week and as opening night approached they would meet more often, sometimes even on Saturdays.
Y/n L/n rushed out of her gym class and made her way over to the auditorium. She spotted a few more people she hadn't seen before heading over to the auditorium just as she was.
The journey down the hallways came to a halt as Y/n entered the auditorium, where she instantly spotted Edgar. She decided to keep her distance away from him.
A girl with brown hair tied into a neat half-bun, reeking of strong perfume, approached Y/n.
"Do you mind if I sit here?" she asked.
"Not at all, go right ahead."
She took a seat next to Y/n and tapped her nails on the desk that attached to her seat before saying, "I'm Vera. The Rainmaker."
"I'm Y/n L-"
"No way!! You mean, like, Succubus?"
"Oh, yeah."
"That's, like, so cool! I get to meet the villain in the flesh! You must be pretty talented! You even get to sing, don't you?"
"Yep... I forgot there was a singing part for a hot second... I'm really not the best at singing but I guess I gotta do what I gotta do, huh?"
"I'm sure you'll do great! You have to have guts to sing in front of a crowd as big as the crowd at, like, opening night here! Have you ever seen one of their productions?"
"No, actually. I've just heard really good stuff about it."
"Y'know, freshman usually don't score a role as big as the villain, so you must be, like, pretty special!" Vera cried out a little too loud, earning a few glares from the other actors and actresses.
"Thanks... Heh..."
Vera was going to ramble on, but two loud claps could be heard from the front of the auditorium, on the stage.
"Silence, please. Thank you. Hello and welcome all! If you came to the interest meeting you would already know this, but I am the host of this production, one of the three Will Brothers, Mr. Pessimistic! Here we will be doing an intensive program for all of you wannabe actors and actresses! So. Let's get started, shall we? Reti, can you pass out the sheets?" the famous actor known as Pessimistic greeted, whispering the last part to his nonverbal brother.
A head similar to Mr. Pessimistic's nodded, walking down the aisle and handing out a thick stack of papers stapled together.
He got to Y/n and pointed at the top sheet of paper and cocked his head to the side, words on the top reading THE RAINMAKER.
"She's the Rainmaker, I'm Succubus," Y/n corrected, taking her packet and handing the other one to Vera.
"Joining me for this fabulous production are my two brothers, Reticent and Ridicule! We also have the Vice Principal, Mr. Jack Ripper joining us!"
Once all of the packets of paper were handed out, Mr. Pessimistic continued.
"Take a look at your packets, everyone. Your lines are all highlighted. If the lines on your paper are the wrong ones, please raise your hand. Nobody? Good, good. Take the rest of the time here to practice the opening scene of the play. It is also recommended everyone sets aside a bit of time to practice in their own time, especially ones with a bigger role. I will be pulling aside people during this time for a few words of wisdom. You all can go ahead and start, now."
