Act XVI
Scene I

[Fade in]

"Alright, everyone. Good work today, I'll see you next week for the dress rehearsal, don't forget about it!"

Y/n rushed out of the auditorium to meet up with Tracy. She had just finished the second rehearsal of the play.

When she got to the front doors of the school, Y/n noticed Tracy was already waiting there.

"Hey, Tracy. You're out early."

"Yeah, we're pretty much all wrapped up until the dress rehearsal. I think I've perfected the soundboard."

"Oh, yeah, that's good."

"Isn't it hard to believe the play is so soon?" Tracy cheered.

"Yeah... 'hard to believe' is an understatement," Y/n nodded.

"If you're nervous, I know you'll do great!"

"Thanks, Tracy. I've been hearing that way too much lately, though. Literally everyone I talk to is all like, 'oh, you'll do great, don't worry'. I wish that helped," Y/n sighed while looking down at her feet.

"Oh... Sorry," Tracy was quick to apologize.

"Nah. It's okay."

"Anyways, do you know where Luca went? I wanted to walk home with him," Tracy asked, an image of Luca popping up in her head.

"I know you're totally head-over-heels for him. You need to ask him out, I'm pretty sure he likes you back too. If he doesn't, I'll punch-"

"Don't finish that."

Y/n looked over at Tracy with the gaze of a mother looking at her child, "Seriously, though. I'm ninety-nine percent sure he likes you back."

"Well," Tracy batted her eyelashes, "I was thinking of asking him out after the play... Do you think that would be, uh, romantic?"

"Oh my God, that's so cute! Yes, yes, yes!! You totally should!" Y/n squealed while thinking of all the sappy love confession scenarios possible.

"Okay, if you say so. What about you and Edgar? I have a hunch he likes you," Tracy blushed a little at the thought of her and Luca dating.

Y/n's smile faded away. She was still mentally beating herself up for telling Edgar she liked him. It was just in the heat of the moment that she didn't really think that through, now she was scared to face him in case he didn't feel the same way, or that he would even laugh at her for it.

Not to mention she didn't know how she was supposed to talk to him after such a deep conversation. Not even she and Tracy had a conversation like that in their pretty much lifetime of knowing each other. Were they just supposed to talk to each other normally after she literally spilled one of her biggest secrets to him?

"Uhh, we're doing pretty good, I guess," Y/n faked a smile as quick as she had lost it, hoping Tracy wouldn't question her, but she usually just shrugged things off. One thing Y/n did know about Tracy was that she wasn't so much a stickler for details.

"We should both ask them out after the play! We would be, like, twins! We can go on double-dates and-"

"I don't really know, Tracy. I think I'll hold back on that, you should have your moments with Luca before me and Edgar get in the way."

"Aww, I don't really care about that. I love you more than I'll ever love Luca. You know what they say, right? Chicks before d-"

"Okay, okay! I'll think about it," Y/n just didn't want Tracy to finish that sentence.
