Act XIV
Scene I

[Fade in]

"Listen up, everyone. We have a lot of things to pack into today's class, so I want all attention on me and no shenanigans. Today we will be presenting our projects. I'm going to be giving you 15 minutes to finish up, and then we will present. You can get in your groups, now," Mr. Pessimistic announced to his theater class.

Y/n's blood froze when she heard the bell signaling class started. Taking one more look at the entrance, she felt her heart drop. Edgar hadn't arrived to class yet.

He's just late... Just late! Walk through those doors, come on Edgar! I'm not manning the light and sound all by myself!

Sluggishly getting out of her seat and walking over to where Luca and Tracy already were, Y/n sighed.

"No Edgar, huh?" Tracy rested her chin on her hand.

"He texted me when I was getting ready. He said he was home sick," Luca mentioned.

Y/n looked like a volcano was about to erupt out of her head, "Thanks for telling me! I would have had time to prepare myself to do light and sound alone if I had known earlier. Now I'm freaking out."

Luca laughed nervously, "Sorry 'bout that."

"Not to mention he was the one that made up our story and script..." Tracy mumbled.

"Anyways, are you two ready to act? I feel like you're going to stumble on your words up on the stage."

"It'll be no problem, don't worry, " Luca assured Y/n.

Y/n was about to make another remark, but Pessimistic walked up to the group before she had a chance.

"Are you guys missing anyone?" he asked.

"Yeah, we're missing Edgar," Tracy replied.

"I see... Was he acting, or...?"

"He's light and sound, with me."

"In that case, when Edgar comes back we'll assess your group. For today's class presentation, which I won't grade yours, do you want Reticent to help you, or do you feel comfortable on your own? "

Y/n frowned, "Not really. I think I could use the extra help, thanks."

"Got it. Other than that, are you all ready? Any concerns?"

"Nope," Luca replied, and Tracy shook her head.

"Great! Good luck out there," Pessimistic nodded, marking Edgar absent on his attendance sheet which was attached to a clipboard.

Act XIV
Scene II

[Fade in]

Tracy and Luca stood behind the curtain up on the stage of the auditorium, hearts pounding. Neither of them had ever acted for an audience, and they didn't want to embarrass themselves in front of their classmates and teachers. Not to mention the teachers were literally famous for acting.

"We now present you... 'No Name'...? Presented by Luca, Tracy, and Y/n."

Seated at the soundboard along with Reticent, Y/n's jaw dropped! They had forgotten to give their production a name!

On the stage, Tracy took a look at Luca, facepalming. Just then, the curtain rose, and Tracy said, "Luca, we forgot to name it!" in front of the entire audience.

"Oops," Luca replied. The audience, their classmates, got a kick out of it and some chuckles emerged.

Pessimistic, in the front row of seats, pinched the bridge of his nose and sighed. He was trying to act disappointed, but inside he was holding in a laugh as well.

Tracy projected a goofy smile before clearing her throat and saying the first line.

"Once upon a time..."

As the curtain fell back down after Tracy and Luca's performance was over, loud claps came from the audience.

"We did awesome! Didn't we?!" Tracy cheered as she exited the stage through a set of stairs.

"Excluding your mishap when the curtain first rose, I'd say we did pretty good."

"We are totally getting an A on this!! Well, when Edgar comes back."

Scene III

[Fade in]

"A C?!?!?!"

Tracy partially screamed. Edgar had come back after a couple of days, so they acted for Pessimistic as a group, and, well...

"I'm sorry. First of all, you didn't have a name for your project, which was clearly stated on the rubric, and overall the acting, lights, and sound were sloppy. The plot was good, though, whose idea was that?"

"Mine," Edgar raised his hand while looking down at the ground, disappointed in himself.

"Mm. Anyways-"

"THE INVENTOR AND THE ACTRESS!!" Tracy yelled, suggesting a title for their production.

"It's too late, Tracy. Plus, don't you think that's a little literal?" Luca said with a frown.

"And here we have Romeo and Juliet!!" Tracy refuted.

"It's a fine name, Tracy, but you had plenty of time to give it a name before we had this conversation. Your final grade is a C. You know what? A B-. I'll raise it for you, but don't tell anyone. To be honest, you guys are some of my favorite students, so I'll let you partially off the hook. This time, only, though."

"THANK YOU, MR. PESSIMISTIC!!" the four shouted eagerly.

"Now go make this year's play amazing! I know you guys can do it!" Pessimistic cheered. He could tell, just by looking at them, all four had a bright future regarding theater.

"We will!!"

A/N

Hi!! I hope you enjoyed this chapter! I honestly am really proud of it! I've decided, however, to make this book one chapter shorter. This was supposed to be filler content, but I was so out of ideas so I just skipped to this one. I know what will happen from now on, though, so hopefully I'll get those chapters out fast! Sorry for the long break as well, I just have no motivation to write right now :')
