Mina
I stare at Somi for a few minutes and tried to see if she's being serious but then she suddenly covered her face and began laughing so hard. My surprised face turned into a frown as soon as the tall woman infront of me burst out laughing.
"Mina, I'm just kidding!"
"Wait, what?"
"I said, I'm just kidding. It was just a prank, Mina."
I automatically puffed in anger and smacked her shoulders.
"Jeon Somi!"
The tall woman infront of me just ignored me while her tears started to fall from her eyes due to massive laughing. She even held her stomache as her loud laughs echoed inside my room.
"God, You should've seen your face, Mina. You looked so funny!"
"I hate you!"
"Oh come on, I know you can't do that. You love me, Right?"
I annoyingly hissed at her and tried to ignore her by pushing her off of my bed which made her fall. She groaned in pain for a second but after recovering, she end up laughing once again.
"Stop laughing, Somi. You're annoying me"
"Sorry I can't help it. You're so funny"
I frowned at her before hitting her on shoulders as hard as I can. I know it may hurt her but she's really getting into my nerves.
"Hey,Mina that hurts—"
"Suits you!"
Somi once again sat beside me on my bed before locking me in inside her warm embrace. She afterwards began apologizing. She said she only did that to lighten up the mood in my room and to get me off of my thoughts. Thoughts that lately has been occupying my mind and my whole being.
In the end, both Somi and I ended up cuddling on my bed while thinking of random stuffs. She lead the conversation without talking about a certain person that occupied my whole system lately and so far, it makes me feel good.
Somi began stroking my hair as she tells random stories which was slowly making me sleepy. I'm so comfortable in her arms and was about to close my eyes not until she suddenly asked something.
"Mina, what if everything I said wasn't really a prank? Will you hate me?"
"Of course not. I won't hate you. I won't even judge you. Somi, I'll respect you and your feelings and besides, what you feel isn't something that I should hate, it's the other way around. I should be grateful for it. You, of all people deserve to love and to be loved."
"Then, if it's not a prank, would you give me a chance? Would you give my love a chance?"
Her sudden question bugged me. What if, she's not really joking? What should I do? Would I give her a chance? I stopped and think carefully for a few minutes until I held her hand and smiled.
"Somi, whatever happens I'll choose the way I could keep you by my side. I'll choose the best way for the two of us. This may or may not hurt you but Somi, I'll choose our friendship for I know, being friends is what we really are just meant to.."
Somi sighed a deep one before giving me a smile that doesn't even reached her eyes. I looked at her and immediately wiped her tears away like she always do to me. Another tear escaped from her eyes which slowly made me wonder.
"Somi? Did I hurt you?"
"No, Mina. Don't worry, I already expected that. Like I said, I know that you belong to Chaeyoung and Chaeyoung belongs to you. Mina, this is you and Chaeyoung's story, not mine. Maybe I'm just here to teach you both a lesson or maybe to save you both from anything that may totally separate you from one another but hey, I am just really kidding. Don't worry."
Somi's genuineness touched my heart. She is always this good and selfless. I should really be grateful for having her as my friend. She's really one of a kind.
Once again, Somi's tears streamed down her face and slowly, it is making me feel guilty.
"Somi, Did I offend you? Did I—"
"No. No, of course not. Let's just say that I was moved by your words, Mina. I didn't know you treasured our friendship that much.."
Somi suddenly hugged me tightly which in the end, made me hug her back. She's a rare gem that needs to be protected at all cost.
"Somi, I'm not just treasuring our friendship. I also care for it as much as I care for you."
Somi is one of the few people that I truly trust and care. She's one of those people who stayed and didn't bother leaving when most people did. She's one of those people who taught me a lot of things—Things that knocked a lot of senses to me which helped me grow.
We spend few more hours cuddling until my exhaustedness and tiredness began pulling me to the journey of fantasy. Slolwy, I began feeling so powerless against it so I just let it take me somewhere and closed my eyes but before I was totally taken away by my dreams, I heard Somi muttered something.
"The real prank was telling you that it's just a prank, Mina. I do really love you but your right, maybe we're really just meant to be friends and it's fine. Now, sleep and get all the rest that you need, my Queen. I love you."
