Chapter twelve

"They say everyone needs a second chance. I'm willing to give you one provided you are ready to accept it."

"He's dreaming now of another world, let's leave quietly" Rain said

Andrei nodded to Rain, after looking at his child for a last time this day, he followed her to the dining room

"The weather is really bad now, you can stay for a while if you want, I'll make you a coffee would you prefer something else ?"

"We need to talk Rain .."

"About what ? You wanted to spend some time with Oliver and I did let you, don't except something else"

"It's not all about oliver, give me a chance to make the thing between us goes better Rain. I want a family and he needs a normal family for sure"

"Give me time to think, I'm living peacefully and independently. I don't have time for any romance and i don't need anyone's help, I've been through a lot alone and ...."

The lights suddenly went out due to the strong thunder storm, Rain had only one fear which was darkness,and unlike her name she feared thunder and lightning

"Andrei !! Are you here ?" She yelled closing her eyes with much pressure due to fear, while stretching her hands to search for him

He couldn't hold his laugh, how ironic He thought she was just saying she didn't need anyone's help, Andrei was trained to see in the darkness and faint light, so it wasn't a big problem for him to see her and her features .. and with the lightning it made it much easier

"I thought you don't want any help ? You're perfectly independent, remember ?"

"Just bring a candle or something !"

"Ask politely I'm not your maid"

"Please ?" She said and shivered from the sound of thunder

"Okay, where do you put them ?"

"In the kitchen cabinet on your left .."

She heard his steps going away from her making her panic

"Wait !"

"Now what ?"

"C-can I go with you ?"

He went to her observing her features for a while then took her hands into his, holding her tight and went towards the kitchen

He found the candles and light them up smoothly .. When Rain found a faint light she opened her eyes slowly to see him smirking at her

"Don't laugh! Everyone has his own fears .."

"Yeah sure, but how old are you to fear darkness? Did you think that a ghost is going to haunt you maybe ? Or that a zombie is ..."

"Just stop .." She said and her tears were streaming down, she couldn't hold them anymore. It was always the same for her when the weather becomes like this, her memories just kept coming back hitting her hard . She never really forgot or moved on but she lived with her lost

"I was kidding .. I didn't mean to make you cry , hey calm down" He said and hugged her to calm her down .

He didn't know what's wrong but he knew very well that she needs him, he wished that she would open up for him a bit and talk about her past and his wish came true, when she calmed down, she felt relieve and secure .
And that was a strange feeling to her

She opened up to him and told him about one of her memories about her older sister

"I fear it because my sister died in a car accident, it was a rainy day just like this one . S-she couldn't see the car coming in the dark and .. and .." Rain said while having troubles in breathing

"It's okay Rain. I'm with you just breathe It's okay Rain, she's in a better place now"

"It was my fault ."

"It's not your fault. It was her destiny, don't blame yourself" He doesn't know why she's blaming herself  ..

"If I didn't tell her to get me a present on my birthday, she wouldn’t have drove in a hurry and make this happen, she would have been here instead. Everything wouldn’t be the same, maybe meeting you was going to be different, or wouldn't happen at all . Oliver maybe would have lived a better life . At least I'd have enough time to spend with him or .."

"Just shut up ! Are you stupid Rain ?"

"Why are you talking to me like this !!"

"Coz you're clearly dumb, it wasn't your mistake so stop blaming yourself !.
And I'm sure it was the other driver's mistake too. And for meeting me, you lighten up my life when i met you , meeting you was the best thing happened to me Rain .. Oliver is lucky to have you and about not having much time, I'm here now and we're gonna tell him tomorrow about me. He deserves to know and you deserve a rest"

Andrei finally confessed his feelings to her, his heart was beating fast as he continued his talk

"I'm sure too that your sister is really proud of you and what you're doing ,
I like you Rain and I want to spend the rest of my life with you and Oliver" He said and waited for a sign to complete what he was doing .. She didn't say anything but her eyes spoke for her, shinning with affection

And that was enough for his next move, his lips was on her, their bodies pressed together heatedly against the wall, breathing heavily as their lips pressed together. He couldn't stop his lust over her anymore, she couldn't either as she kissed him back with the same passion . They wanted the same thing
