Lan Wangji has had a long day even though it was only midday by now. Being a Prince naturally came with overwhelming responsibilities he was not very fond of. True, he loved to serve the people of the Kingdom but not just as a monarch. Eventually he was declared the General of the Lan army, seeing to the training of the soldiers. Nie Mingjue did the diplomatic jobs for him though.

But now.....the future seemed uncertain.

Their father is not coming to any consensus regarding a Crown Prince, even though they both are of age. Lan Wangji has little interest in being the next Emperor and would be glad if his brother took up the mantle. But with his brother's precarious marriage and stubborn denial to take another wife to produce a Heir, it seems like Lan Wangji would be put in difficult situation in the near future.

Lan Xichen seemed perfectly contented with not being the ruler as he was destined to and instead focussed on his husband more. Jin Guangyao, on the other hand felt miserable and guilty about the situation.

Lan Wangji himself was not declared Crown Prince immediately after Lan Xichen's marriage due to his own stubborness as well. While there was a little to no possibility of Xichen taking another Consort..... Lan Wangji had quietly announced when his mother died, that he would be taking no spouse to himself.

So..... As of right now, the two Prince didn't have any blood Heir and the kingdom, similarly, didn't have a Crown Prince as well.

Now, the Imperial Family was headed to Lanling to celebrate the union of two most important noble families on the land, the Jins and the Jiangs.

Lan Wangji is not familiar with the bride or groom personally, but he certainly has opinions of their respective fathers from the happenings in the Imperial Court.

Thus, when they reached Lanling, Lan Wangji was not surprised seeing the gold and purple hues of the hosts. From afar, he could see Jin Guangshan and his principal wife with some Jin disciples on his left. The Jiang retinue comprised of Jiang Fengmian, his wife and two young men, similar to his own age. From their robes, it was evident that they were the Heir and adopted ward of the Jiangs.

As the neared closer, Lan Wangji smelled a very familiar scent in the air. Now, it was not uncommon to smell the scents in such a big gathering, but what surprised him the most was the intensity of this particular scent.

A strong wave of cinnamon and lotus invaded his senses making him dizzy and almost lose control. He looked around to see, just who has such an overpowering scent, so much so that even he lost control.

And before he could fathom, his eyes met with beautiful, silver eyes and time seemed to have stopped, then and there.

The scent was spiking and intoxicating and Lan Wangji immediately knew what it was.

The repeated chants of MineMineOmegaOmegaMine in his head were the damning proof that this person in front of him was his Fated Omega. Lan Wangji moved before he was thinking, uncaring of their audience and a warm body fell into his arms.

Lan Wangji had never seen a beauty so calamitious. 

His canines were extending before he could react. His Alpha, the one he has kept under strict control was roaring to be let out and claim what was theirs. And suddenly, there were several pair of hands separating him and his Omega and Lan Wangji was thrashing around.

He could make out his brother's voice, his uncle's voice and more noises before he was losing all his consciousness.
