"Yes really. I have to tolerate you, for one."

"You're... packing. Why are you packing? You're not leaving me are you?" Derek asks when he sees Charlotte put some clothes in a duffel bag.
"Nope." Charlotte shakes her head.
"Then where are you going?" Derek asks, sitting at the edge of her bed.
"I'm going to go and do a few things. Then I'm going to a party." Charlotte replies, making Derek raise his eyebrows at her.
"I know, shocker." Charlotte nods with a small laugh.
"Who's party is it?" Derek asks.
"Lydia's." Charlotte replies, making Derek smirk.
"Oh don't look at me like that." Charlotte shakes her head with a sigh.
"Hey, I'm just happy you're making friends." Derek raises his hands in a surrender type way.
"They aren't friends." Charlotte shakes her head.
"'They?' Who else am I missing here?" Derek asks with an excited smile.
"No one." Charlotte shakes her head, a small smile on her face.
"Okay, I'll just tell you. Allison, Stiles, Scott and Lydia are your friends and you cannot convince me otherwise." Derek tells her.
"They're not friends. They're acquaintances. I haven't got the time, the effort and the mental stability to keep a friendship." Charlotte turns to him, shaking her head as she speaks.
"Then what the hell am I?" Derek asks.
"You're the cousin. You're family, there's a difference." Charlotte informs him.
"Not really." Derek shakes his head.
"Yes really. I have to tolerate you, for one." Charlotte jokes, making Derek dramatically gasp.
"You bitch." Derek playfully glares at her, making Charlotte laugh at him.
"Now get out of my room so I can leave." Charlotte gestures to the door, making Derek stand up and follow her out of the door.
"When will you be home?" Derek asks as they walk downstairs.
"Stop pretending like you won't be there to keep an eye on Scott." Charlotte smirks over her shoulder at him before she walks out of the front door.
"And you too just in case you get drunk!" Derek calls after her.
"Can't get drunk, remember?" Charlotte asks before she gets into her car.

"Yes?" Sheriff Stilinski asks, seeing Charlotte at his front door.
Charlotte distinctly remembers the man in front of her be the one who escorted Stiles to his Jeep when she was walking home from the shops the first night she got to Beacon Hills.
"Hi. Is your son here?" Charlotte asks politely.
"Ah, what's he done now? Broke a window?" Sheriff asks, making Charlotte purse her lips and shake her head at the adult.
"He told me that he'll help me out with homework. I'm kinda struggling." Charlotte lies smoothly.
Sheriff Stilinski nods at the girl with a warm smile before he turns his body towards the stairs in his house.
"Stiles! There's someone here for you!" Sheriff calls out, sending Charlotte an apologetic expression, which she waves off with a smile.
Suddenly, Stiles appears at the top of the stairs, his eyes lighting up when he sees Charlotte at his doorstep.
