We stopped at a hotel near the state line of Kentucky after leaving Virginia. There was one thing I realized about James. He knew decent places around the country that were cheap. He was very cautious of how he spent his money but was also able to get good deals.

The hotel we stayed at was $39 a night, and somehow he managed to haggle for a nice room with 2 bedrooms and a bathroom. When James got the key card, he lead us to where we were staying. Once he unlocked the door, Aiden pushed past him and ran inside.

"A TV!" He hopped on the couch and grabbed the remote quickly. James rolled his eyes and took a step back to allow me to go in first. It surprised me. If anything, he'd always walk ahead of me and leave the door to slam in my face.

"What are you doing?" I scoffed.

"What do you mean 'what am I doing?" He raised his eyebrow and gestured inside. "I'm trying to get inside the room."

"You're holding the door open for me.." I pointed out monotonously. "Are you treating me differently because of what happened earlier?" I snapped.

"Do you really think I care to do that?" James shot back. "Get inside. It's cold out here."

"Of course you don't care." I huffed. "You only care about yourself."

"Fine, stay out here then. Freeze to death." James shrugged and walked ahead of me. Before the door could shut completely, I caught it and walked inside.

The hotel room was absolutely stunning. Much better than the motel we stayed in last night. The wallpaper was beige and all the furniture inside the room was a dark brown and burgundy color. It worked together super well.

The 2 bedroom doors were on the right, and the bathroom was on the left. I headed straight for the bathroom, and I felt so satisfied when I saw the large tub and shower. I was going to spend at least an hour soaking and trying to rid myself of this dirty stench.

"Which one is my room?" Aiden chirped and opened the doors. James snickered at him sarcastically.

"You don't get a room. You'll share with her." He gestured at me. I strolled over to him angrily.

"You both are guys, so why don't you share a room with him?"

"Because I paid for everything. So shut up and do what I say." He walked over to the living room area and sat on the couch next to Aiden.

"I don't feel comfortable," I mumbled. "Especially after what happened earlier. So I should stay by myself tonight."

"Oh, so you want us to treat you differently now?" James teased. "I thought you didn't want that."

"Why don't you both just share a room?" Aiden crossed his arms. "You guys slept together anyways. I don't see why you both can't do that again."

James and I glanced at each other and back at Aiden before coughing awkwardly. To his childlike mind, he probably didn't understand that what he said very much implied that James and I did something else other than sleeping. Aiden was still a kid, who probably didn't even receive the talk yet.

"We didn't sleep together!" I hiccuped. "And we never will!" I added on that last part for emphasis, and Aiden tilted his head at us in confusion.

"Why not? Aren't you guys boyfriend and girlfriend? My mom used to sleep with her boyfriend all the time."

"No!" James and I said together. "We aren't dating." James finished. "And your mother probably did a lot more than just sleep—"

"James!" I hissed at him.
