"Listen, Ma'am, we've heard plenty of fairytales like this before. Aliens? Sasquatches? Ghosts? Your story isn't any different. I suggest you get out of here before I arrest you for wasting an Officers time."
"I'm telling the truth! My story is completely different! I was attacked!" I tried begging him. He wasn't going to listen to me.
"I understand that you said your University got caught in an earthquake. And I get that you've been attacked, but don't come in here saying you've been attacked by an alien! That's a complete load of bull. If you want us to help you and find the perpetrator, don't make up dumb stories!" The Officer at the desk shouted at me and rolled his eyes.
After being abandoned here by James, I decided to walk to the nearest Police station to report to them what happened back at the University, despite what he told me. I didn't care, I wanted to make sure that I was safe. Clearly, unmannered swine like him wouldn't understand. Apparently, wanting to be safe was being too demanding.
It wasn't fair. I should've been the one to abandon him since he was the one with lightning powers, or whatever it was. He was able to defend himself, but I wasn't.
"I'm begging you!"
"Out!" The Officer nudged me towards the exit and shoved me out.
Well. What now?
"Oh! If I ever see that stupid almond-eyed jerk face again I'm going to—" I shouted in frustration and kicked a pebble that sat in front of the building angrily. I swore like a sailor, thinking some very harmful insults of this man. For sure, if I died and ghosts were real, I was going to haunt him.
I'll make his life torture. And once we are dead together I'd strangle him.
If the Police wouldn't listen to me, there wasn't any way for me to survive now. I had no hope of living. I was pretty much done for. It's so sad. I worked so hard to get a scholarship at an amazing school, only to die young. What was it all for?
"I was raised to work hard and then I'd succeed. They told me I'd reap what I sew. And now, I'm going to die. Why god, WHY!?" I shouted at the sky. A few pedestrians eyed me suspiciously. I probably looked insane. I didn't care. Life was over anyways.
I sat down in front of the building on the steps and pressed my fists against my face. I crouched over my knees and sighed. I didn't know whether to cry or rack my mind for survival solutions.
It seemed too late to do either. The ground began to shake violently, and the pebbles rumbled near my feet. "Oh.. no!" I gasped. "No no no!" I stood up quickly and gazed around.
It was another earthquake. They were here. This was it, my last minute of living.
"EARTHQUAKE!" A random kid shouted, and everyone in the street and plaza hopped out of their vehicles and ran for shelter. I watched as everyone ran past me frantically.
As if on cue, a large Boulder came crashing in the middle of the parking lot, knocking everyone around it back. I felt someone get thrown against me, so I fell. "What is that thing!?" I heard a woman screech. Steam emerged from the rock, and one of the creatures took a confident step out of it.
But it didn't look the same at all.
"Ew! What is that smell!?" Another random pedestrian shouted. The creature moved its head from left to right, like it was searching for something or someone. Then it let out an angry roar before swinging its arms at the people.
People dropped dead, one after another whenever they came into contact with the creature. I just stood there watching in horror. Others panicked and ran, some remained and screamed in terror.
