"You're apologizing about the kiss?" James hissed.
"Yeah?" I coughed. "Call me stupid or whatever, but I really don't understand what you were trying to do. I'm sure Su told you by now that doing that helps enhance your abilities and recharges mine. But I'm confused because even when I don't need it you keep—"
James pinned me against the wall, and he peered at me. My heartbeat felt like it was pounding against the rest of my insides. My breathing almost stopped. His close proximity made me extremely nervous. "You're confused for no reason, idiot."
"Okay, if you're just going to insult me—"
"Shut up, let me finish," James growled and I frowned. "See if you can tell the difference between this," He pressed his lips to mine again, and I felt a surge of energy run through my body. My abilities were once again recharged, and James pulled away quickly.
His eyes were glowing again briefly before they went back to their normal color. His blue veins disappeared from his skin as well. "And.. this." James spat and grabbed the back of my head. He kissed me again with full force and tilted his head.
This time, I felt like my energy was charging up again, but it wasn't the same as before. Something was different. Whatever this was, felt more intimate, very contrast to what was happening before.
Before I knew it myself, I found my arms wrapping around his neck and pulling him closer to me. Then I realized what I was doing and pushed him away with a gasp.
James was still pressed against me, and I heard him let out a low moan, which surprised me. "We can't..." I sighed. "We aren't even together—"
"Says who?" He snorted.
"I— you— what?" I blinked. "You said that you didn't want to have relationships with Aiden or I. You have no interest in me! What do you mean 'says who'?"
"I changed my mind." James shrugged.
"Don't you want to see your family?" I gasped.
"I do. But I don't see what that has to do with you or Aiden."
"Do you even like me?"
"Do you want another kiss?"
"James! Not funny!" I whined. "I just don't know what this is.. what are we—"
"Partners." James smiled wide, imitating Su's words from earlier. "I know you're not completely stupid. You know what that translates to in our 'human' terms."
"... Are you... sure?" I felt a mild distrust, even though it felt like he was being sincere.
"Absolutely," James smirked. "Wanna test it out? Go stare at a random man on the street and see if I don't electrocute him to death. You already know how I won't hesitate to do something crazy."
"I'm good." I bit my lip nervously and pushed him away completely. Now that I've finally disclosed our situation, I felt relieved and nervous at the same time.
I never had a boyfriend before. Woah... that word felt super odd. Boyfriend? It felt strange, but I guess I could get used to it.
I waved at James and strolled off into the separate bedroom that Su went in earlier. I was going to have to shower in the morning.

"Where am I?" Aiden blinked as James pulled into my University parking lot. My heartbeat got faster as we parked and examined our location. It still looked completely trashed, the same way we left it.
"How do you feel?" James gazed in the rearview mirror and slumped back in the driver's seat. "You were knocked out for a long time, kid." He reached behind and patted Aiden's brunette hair.
