Evangeline breathed in the cold fresh air as she stepped off the train, she secretly hated them. It was now dark outside. She began to panic as she was swallowed up in a large swarm of people as they made their way up to Hogwarts. "Evangeline? Evangeline?" She heard a voice call from behind her. The voice seemed far away. She wanted to call back but the anxiety of being crushed by fellow students took over her senses and next thing she knew, everything went black.

Sirius pushed through the crowds of people as he saw Evangeline fall to the ground. People simply gaped at her and tread on her fingers, making Sirius feel frustrated. "Why are you just standing there? And for Merlin's sake, stop treading on her!!  GO GET HELP YOU IDIOTS!!" He demanded as he supported her head in his arms. Students ran away timidly before a giant figure appeared over them, literally a giant. "Move out the way yer lot, no need ter be scared now." He bellowed. Sirius looked up at him. He had long black matted hair and a beard, his eyes were full of warmth and kindness that made Sirius feel reassured. "Y'right young man? Here, I'll take her ter the castle. You can come along in the boat wi' me. She's just fainted, nothin' ter be worried about. I'm Hagrid by the way. " He explained. Sirius nodded and told him name and followed the large man until they reached the boats, which took the first years to the castle. Once in the castle, Hagrid took Evangeline to the nurse quickly, who gave her a quick potion to get her up on her feet. "There we go, yer best go hurry off ter the Sorting. It'll be startin' soon."  He smiled. "Thank you." Evangeline and I said to him before running back to the Great Hall.

Sirius was very nervous about the Sorting, he prayed that he wouldn't end up in Slytherin. He hoped the hat would know he had a better heart than his family. A elder witch called people up one by one to be sorted. "Sirius Black." She called. Sirius cursed to himself before sitting down. He looked at Evangeline who crossed her fingers for him. He smiled at her. "Hmm, your family have been in Slytherin throughout generations, but you seem different to them. There's not a hint of Slytherin in you. I see love and courage. Therefore, I put you in... GRYFFINDOR!!" It rumbled. He did it. He broke the stupid tradition. He strolled over to the Gryffindor table proudly, greeting people happily. Eventually after hundreds of students were sorted, it was Evangeline's turn. Sirius hoped it would be Gryffindor. "Incredible intelligence I see, but your heart if full of pure love and bravery surges through your veins. Yes, I know where to place you... GRYFFINDOR!!" Sirius cheered loudly and patted her back as she took the vacated seat beside him.

As soon as they got to the common room, they separated to go to their dormitories. There, they met very good friends. Evangeline sat on the edge of her bed and noticed that the girl opposite her had muggle magazines. "Hey, are you Muggle-Born too?" She asked curiously. The red-haired girl looked up and nodded. "Lily Evans." She smiled, holding out her hand. Evangeline leant forward and shook it. "Evangeline Thompson." Lily was absolutely lovely. They were becoming really good friends already, she also met Alice, a very shy but kind hearted girl. Sirius on the other hand met James Potter, Remus Lupin and Peter Pettigrew. Hogwarts was amazing already and they hadn't even had any lessons yet.
