-4th March, 1995, present day-
I arrived in Lincolnshire and started to look around the places in the countryside for cottages by a stream. I approached an old couple and made sure my hood was down as I was feared by muggles too. "Excuse me ma'am, an old friend of mine lives in a cottage by a stream somewhere in the countryside, do you know where I'd find a place like that?" I wondered. She exchanged looks with her husband. "Well, there used to be a place called Rosemary Cottage up north, but rumours say it's completely disappeared young man." She replied honestly. Muggle-repellent charm, it must be. "Thank you for your help." I said before making my way up north, when no-one could see me, I apparated towards the trees. I found a footpath and made my way down it, through some woods. I heard a distant sound of a piano being played. I followed the sound, immediately thinking of Evangeline showing me her playing one when we were teenagers on one Christmas day, her father had taught her how. I felt light at the feet when I finally reached a absolutely beautiful black and white, Tudor-styled cottage, just as Evie wanted. A small stream ran underneath a stone arched bridge that led to the house itself. Hundreds of flowers surrounded the cottage with animated gnomes working on them and keeping the slugs and ants away, which is why she had to use a muggle-repellent charm around the cottage. I imagined myself living here with her, married and maybe with children, I wished we had that opportunity. I smartened myself up a little before walking towards the door and knocking on it.
The blue door squeaked open and butterflies rose in my stomach. She was still so beautiful, despite it being nearly 14 years since I last saw her. Her dark brown hair was still long and still hung in loose ringlets. Her eyes still sparkled in the rays of the sunlight. "I can't believe it..." She whispered in shock. I simply smiled and looked into her eyes. "Umm, sorry, I'm just so shocked, please, come in..." She said warmly. I followed her inside. The interior was just as beautiful as outside. The walls were painted pastel colours. On the walls hung still photos of her and her family next to moving photos of her and Lily back in the school days. The piano she was playing stood in the corner of the living room which was open plan next to the old fashioned kitchen, which the dishes were currently washing themselves. In the middle of the living room was the grand, more Victorian, fireplace. "It's amazing in here." I commented after taking it all in. She nodded happily before passing me a cup of tea, using the summoning charm. We sat at the small dining room table opposite each other. "You don't realise how long I've been hoping for you to knock on that door Sirius. I'm so glad you found me." She admitted sadly. I smiled at her. "I remembered your dream place you told Lily about in our last year. Before then, I visited your family home. I'm sorry about what you're going through, it must be hard." I told her. She nodded. "It is hard, but I visit them every so often." She replied. She noticed my confused expression. She put down her cup and stood up and closed her eyes. I looked down when I heard tweeting. "You're an Animagus! That's incredible!" I exclaimed to the small robin she had transformed into. She transformed back with a smug expression on her face. "It was the only way I could watch over my family. I became an Animagus in 1988. I wanted a way to watch over Harry without being caught." She confessed. "He's so very like James. He's been so brave. He has Lily's kindness too. I'm glad that I'm in his life now." I told her. "That's wonderful. I'd love to meet him. Does he know about me?" She wondered curiously. I nodded. Her face lit up in happiness. "I wrote to him about you. He knows you're his godmother. I explained everything. I then told him that I'd go on a quest to find you... to tell you something..." I explained. She blushed and nodded for me to go on.
"Being in Azkaban, losing James and Lily and you, it left a huge hole inside of me. At first, I thought it was just the effect of the dementors, but if that were true, I wouldn't have been able to think of my happiest memories. During my twelve years there, I would lie in the cell and think about us. The memory of you kept me strong Evangeline. Eventually it gave me the strength to transform into my Animagus form and escape. But then I was still left with the empty place in my heart as I had no idea where you were. I was still angry about the fact that Peter was roaming around free as a pet rat without a care in the world when he ruined any chance of us being happy together and any chance of us bringing up Harry as Lily and James would have wanted. I lost control whilst trying to capture him. Although I'm thankful that I got to meet Harry that night and I had regained my trust in Remus, I was still angry that he escaped. I'm not going to let him ruin my life anymore Evangeline. I don't know if it's all changed for you after being apart for so long but, I still love you Evie, just as much as I did before." I blurted out. I had no idea how she would react, but I certainly didn't not expect her to walk over to me and to crash her lips onto my own.
