-Present day, July 1993-
~Sirius' POV~
I did not sleep at all. Screams sounded throughout out the night like sirens, driving me insane. I don't want to be here any more. I ripped my sleeves of my clothes to pieces out of boredom. I ended accidentally cutting my wrist until it bled. I cursed to myself and wrapped the scraps of material around it. I then stood up and leant my head against the wall and started to sob out of pure depression and frustration. I would give anything to get out of this help hole and to find Evie. The depression made me think of the scariest day I had with Evie. It was in my fifth year, 17 years ago...
January 1975, a blanket of snow lay on the Hogwarts grounds as I walked with Evie to our next class. "Lily says that Sev- I mean Snivellus has been hanging around with Rosier and Avery and he's up to something. Lily says he's really focused on the Dark Arts all of a sudden. He's become all snappy with her. Weird huh?" She told me as she linked her arm with mine. I shrugged my shoulders and nodded. "Suppose." I stated with a put on yawn. She pushed me away with an annoyed expression before laughing and re-linking our arms together. "You're so mean sometimes." She sighed. I smiled and winked at her. "You know, I think Lily is starting to like James, don't tell him I said that, you know what he's like." She admitted. I tapped my nose and winked again. She laughed and followed me into the Transfiguration classroom. We learnt how to conjure butterflies from our wands, so girly and boring. Even Evie was unimpressed, but she did enjoy sending them into my mess of black curls, as did I with making them tickle her face, causing her to scream with laughter. After the lesson ended, we stepped out into the corridor still laughing and made our way to meet James, Remus and Peter. On the way there we heard Snape's voice coming from a deserted classroom. "I'll go in and make him jump shall I?" Evie suggested. I laughed and nodded "I'm a bad influence on you Evangeline Grace Thompson." I replied. She crept inside.
I walked in after her to see Snivellus jump out of skin before yelling "SECTUMSEMPRA!" Evie screamed with pure fear. He had slashed her skin to pieces as if he had an invisible sword, causing blood to flow all over the floor where she lay, crying out in agony. "WHAT DID YOU DO? WAS THAT YOUR SPELL? FIX HER, SHE'S DYING YOU GREASY HAIRED IDIOT!" I shouted at him furiously. Severus looked frightened and ran away making me more scared. "COME BACK YOU COWARD!!!!" I cried. Next thing I knew, Professor Dumbledore appeared and ran over looking worried. "Sir, Snape... he used his own spell and hit her... she's lost so much blood..." I sobbed. He picked her up carefully and carried her to the hospital wing without a word. No matter what she tried, the nurse couldn't close the wounds. "Albus, if it's a own made spell, won't it have it's own countercurse?" Professor Mcgonagall suggested. He nodded and left the room. He returned ages after looking pleased with himself. "I found Severus and he has given me the countercurse." He said before passing a piece of paper to the nurse. She nodded and waved her wand over Evie's weak body singing "Vulnera Sanentur". The wounds sealed up and Evie seemed a lot healthier. "She will just have to take blood-replenishing potion now, and I will use dittany to prevent scarring, she will need to rest of course." The nurse said. I nodded and thanked her.
Moments later James, Remus and Peter arrived. "Snivellus did that to her?" James asked shocked. I nodded. He shook his head angrily. "At least she's alright." Remus reassured everyone. I nodded once more weakly. I kissed her forehead and followed them outside to the usual place we sat. We soon saw Snivellus walk by. James followed my angry expression and got up. "He's not going to get away with this Padfoot." He announced before storming over to him and started to shout at him furiously. "You think it's funny huh? Using your clever little spells on innocent people, nearly killing them and then running away. It's not, you deserve to be punished Snivelly. Right here, right now." He demanded before getting out his wand and raising Snivellus in the air and hanging him upside down from the tree. However, Lily saw the whole thing and rushed over. "Put him down Potter!" She insisted. James laughed and shook his head. "Stop trying to help me! I don't need a mudblood to help me!" Severus snarled. Tears welled up in Lily's eyes. "How dare you Sev. Do what you want Potter, I don't care anymore." She said through her tears. James took off his trousers "That's for putting Evie in hospital and for insulting Evans!" He mocked. Lily gasped and ran off towards the hospital wing.
Evie was released from hospital two days later, her face was glowing when she heard how we punished Snivellus. It was nice seeing her all happy and healthy again.
