-September, 1994, present day-
Harry had now started his fourth year. We wrote to each other often. He told me about his nightmares of Voldemort and about his scar burning, he told me about his experience during the big death eater attack at the Quidditch World Cup. I had feared that Voldemort was on the verge of return, I didn't know how that was possible, but the death eater attack and the dark mark out of nowhere made me believe this. I hoped it was not true, I wanted Harry to be in no danger. I was currently residing outside Hogsmeade, which was full of wanted posters with my face on, with Buckbeak, not too far from where I first kissed Evangeline. The thought of her made me get out a quill and write to Harry about her. It was about time that he would find out that he also had a godmother. I wrote this:
Dear Harry, I wish to tell you about a girl that I was, and still am, in love with that I met in Hogwarts. Her name is Evangeline Grace Thompson and she was a muggle-born, I met her on the Hogwarts Express. She had very long dark brown hair that kinda hung in ringlets. She was also sorted into Gryffindor, where I met your father, Remus and the traitor and she met your mother. She and your mother became the best of friends. They would sit in the corner of the common room and discuss books and lessons. Personality wise, she was a lot like Hermione when it came to her intelligence and her nagging to James and I to do our work, but she had a very cheeky, rebellious and sarcastic side too, the side she always had around us Mauraders, which is why James and Remus (and traitor) also became very good friends with her. She had the most beautiful brown eyes that were mixtures of shades of amber and hazel. They were always full of pure love and irony. Perfect combination for a guy like me. She had the best sense of humour and she always laughed at my pranks and she always had a smile on her face. It didn't take me long to fall in love with her. It did, however, take me six years to tell her how I felt and to kiss her. I have not seen her since your parents were killed on Halloween night, 1981, almost 13 years now. We were separated after I was imprisoned, she also knew the truth about the traitor. She discovered your parents with me that night. I had never seen her so broken, she truly loved your mother. She was the reason I kept strong in Azkaban and the reason I had the strength to escape. The real reason I'm telling you all this is because Harry, she's your godmother. She tried to take you to raise you up but she was refused access because of the accusations against me. It's a cruel world. You would love her. Thanks to you and Hermione rescuing me (and perhaps Ron if I didn't nearly tear his leg off), I now go on a quest to find her. I even don't care if she's married, I just want to see her again. Even if she's just a headstone in a graveyard. I just want to be near her once more, that's all I need right now. All the best, Sirius.
I attached the letter to an owl and watched it fly away towards Hogwarts. I then racked my brains for potential places to go.
