-Present day, June 6th, 1994-
The past few days had been absolutely mad. I was so driven by anger and determination to get Peter. I had made an acquaintance with a cat, Harry's friend's cat knew that Peter wasn't a real rat and that I wasn't a real dog he's been trying to get him to me, but the wizard who owns him is very overprotective. I've been taking refuge in different places near Hogsmeade and in the Forbidden Forest. Unfortunately I had been spotted a few times, also they think my Animagus form is The Grim, the omen of death. I made matters worse when I lost my temper on Halloween night, the anniversary of James and Lily's death. Half-crazed and desperate, I sneaked into Hogwarts through the old passageway from the Shrieking Shack and slashed the Gryffindor's portrait when she refused me entrance to to the tower on October 31st. I later watched the Quidditch match between Gryffindor and Hufflepuff, Harry was seeker and his talent mirrored James', he would've been very proud . Eventually, a few days later I was able to enter the Gryffindor common room with a list of passwords the cat had stolen from Frank and Alice's son and I angrily shredded Peter's owner's bed curtains in my search for him. He had escaped once more. I was beginning to lose hope.
However, I had now caught the boy carrying Peter after he had been discovered hiding in Hagrid's cabin, I dragged both boy and Peter through the tunnel under the Whomping Willow to the Shrieking Shack. The boy yelled in pain, I didn't want to hurt him, but being in my Animagus form meant that I had my sharp dog teeth. I heard Harry and the cat's owner yell after him before attempting to follow us. The boy, who I now knew was called Ron, sat in the corner trembling with blood gushing out of his leg. I transformed into my human self and Ron screamed in fright. Harry and the girl appeared. "Harry! The Grim... it's a trap... it's him! He's an Animagus!" Ron whispered. Harry looked forward to where I was standing. Harry took his wand and aimed it at me. "Are you going to kill me Harry?" I asked amusingly. The door then slammed open and Remus ran in. "Expelliarmus!" He shouted, causing Harry's wand to fly in the air. Remus ran into my arms. "Great to see you again Sirius." He smiled. "NO! I trusted you Professor! You're his friend? I know why you've been skipping classes, you're a werewolf, I discovered since I did Professor Snape's essay in your absence." The girl cried. Remus turned to her. "Well, you really are a talented and clever witch Hermione." He sneered. I lost my patience.
"Remus! I can't wait any longer! I've waited for twelve years in Azkaban to kill him!" I insisted. Remus nodded. "Harry deserves to know why first, you must understand that." Remus replied. Harry shook his head. "I know why! You betrayed my parents, you're the reason their dead!" He shouted angrily. "No it wasn't Sirius. Someone did betray your parents that night Harry and up until recently I both believed he was dead." Remus informed calmly.
"Who, who was it then?" Harry demanded. I felt anger rise as I said his name to Harry, looking at Ron's rat as I did so. "Peter Pettigrew! He's in this room! Come reveal yourself Peter!" I said. "Expelliarmus!" Snivellus cursed as he entered the room suddenly. My wand flew out of my hand and he pointed his wand at me. "Here's the proof that Remus has helped an old friend into the castle. I hoped to find you Sirius, I'd kill you now, but I've heard the dementors are longing to kiss you, is that a hint of fear that I see? Vengeance is sweet." He sneered. Unexpectedly, Harry borrowed Hermione's wand and disarmed Snape with such force that he crashed into a bed and was knocked unconscious.
"Tell me about Pettigrew!" Harry insisted, ignoring Hermione's nags about the fact that he had just attacked a teacher. "We went to school together. We thought he was our friend. I thought he was killed by Sirw until you said you saw him on the map!" Remus told him calmly.
"And the map never lies! He's the rat, right there!" I explained. Ron looked confused.
"Scabbers? But he's been in my family for-"
"Twelve years! A long time for a normal garden rat to live right? He's missing a toe isn't he? Peter faked his own death and left a finger behind and framed me for killing those muggles." I interrupted. Peter squeaked and struggled in Ron's hands. "Prove it." Harry stated. After refusing, Ron finally let Peter go. I shot spells at him but he kept dodging them, until one finally caught him and he suddenly transformed back into his human form. Remus helped me pull him out of a gap he got stuck in. Peter faced us. "Sirius? Remus! My old friends!" He cheered before we pushed him away. He approached Harry. "Harry, you really took after your father. James was my best friend he was!" He smiled. "Peter! How dare you speak of James in front of him!" I growled.
Peter ran behind the piano for shelter as Remus and I pointed our wands at him. "You sold James and Lily to Voldemort didn't you?" Rents questioned. Peter bit his long nails nervously.
"I didn't mean to! You have no idea of what weapons the dark Lord processes! What would've you done Sirius?" Peter wondered nervously.
"I would've died! I would never betray my friends!" I admitted. Peter begged Harry for mercy. "Voldemort may not have killed you Peter, but we will, together!" I grunted before Remus raised his wand with me, aiming at Peter, ready to kill him. "NO! I know what he is! He deserves to suffer! The dementors can have him!" Harry said. We sighed before we made our way out of the Shrieking Shack to go to the castle.
