"Ok, this is the guest bedroom. Since you're father and son I don't think you'll mind sharing a bed for one night, but if it does bother you then one of you is welcome to the couch." Zato says as he points over his shoulder toward the couch. Zato lets out a mental sigh as he and Rias' family were walking out of the school Sirzech remembered that neither of them had set up anywhere to sleep. Zato questions why they don't just teleport home with a magic circle but Sirzech just shrugs. despite not wanting to he knows his mother would kill him if he just told them good luck with that, which he almost did. Zato lets the two crash at his house. "Also feel free to grab anything in the fridge, my dad made way too much while he was here and lord knows I can't eat all of it," Zato says as Sirzech looks at him.
"Thank you very much," Sirzech says with a bow.
Zato just waves his hand and walks toward his room. Going inside he closes the door behind him, then suddenly his sacred gear appears. "You sure are willing to talk more as of late. How many years did we go without a single word exchanged between us? Seven, ten, oh wait eleven was it. So what do you want to talk about?" Shamir asks as Zato looks down at his hand.
"I can no longer afford to ignore the power you can grant me and unlike before I now want to stand by the sides of others," Zato says while lowering his hand. "The foes I'll face from now on will be strong and my physical strength won't be enough so I'll need your strength in the coming battles," Zato says as Shamir sighs.
Suddenly a black aura erupts from Zato's sacred gear. Zato's eyes widen and he falls to his knees holding the arm in pain with the aura still raging. The aura spills onto the wall and quickly covers the walls, floor, and ceiling. Encasing Zato in black as the boy screams in pain as black cracks begin moving through his body. However, the darkness around him consumes the sounds
"You're quite a fool, but that's to be expected of a child so new to the power before them," Shamir says as the cracks keep advancing throughout Zato's body. "My other users understood that advancing one without the other is fruitless but you can't seem to comprehend that what you see as two completely different forms are actually just two sides of the same coin." Shamir says as the cracks reach Zato's eyes before both go completely black and he lets out another scream but this time instead of screams what comes out is a fountain of the same black aura leaving his arm.
"Oh looks like I gave you too much. Can't have you dieing now, that would result in me breaking my promise to #@/*^$>." Shamir says this like she completely forgot about Zato as she went off on this little conversation. In what seemed like less than a second all the aura retreats back into the sacred gear and Zato leans forward, breathing heavily. "I dought you actually heard any of what I just said but then again you wouldn't lessen to me anyway, so I'll just let Cable deal with you." Shamir says as a sweat runs down Zato's face.
"Wh-" Zato doesn't get to finish since suddenly a shock runs through his body and he falls to the ground unmoving.
At first his eyelids felt like they weighted a hundred tons but after a moment the feeling vanished and Zato opens his eyes slowly. A bright light fills his vision but a man stands above him looking down at him.
The man extends his hand to help Zato up. "Hello there young one. You're Zato Cero correct?" The man asks with a smile. His eyes shooting opening Zato just to his feet before quickly making distance between himself and the mystery man.
"Where am I? Who the h-" In an instant the man appears before Zato and presses his figure up to Zato's lips.
"Shh, there's no need for such language." The man says with a smile as he takes his figure off Zato's lips. "My name is Cable one of the sons of Cain and Awan. Also the first wielder of the Black Dragon, you're the newest weirder correct? You would be wielder number ten if I've kept count correctly." Cable explains.
"And how do I know you're telling to truth?" Zato asks still not lowering his guard.
"Ah you make a good point young one. Shamir doesn't talk about her past wielder very often. So does this give you some comfort?" Cable asks as he summons the same black aura that Zato's sacred gear radiates. Zato looks at the man surprised and his guard drops. "It appears I've convinced, so shall we start over?" Cable asks as he walks toward Zato and extends his hand. "Hello there young one my name is Cable son of Cain and Awan, the first wielder of the Black dragon." Cable says with a smile.
Zato looks down at Cable's hand for a second before grabbing it and accepting his handshake. "Zato Cero."
"Ah so I was correct you are the most recent weilder of the black dragon, the ninth weirder %$#* <+#%$ has spoken quite fondly of you." Cable says with as Zato looks at him confused.
"I'm sorry but who." Zato asks
"Oh my apologies, %$#* #@!& was the name I spoke." Cable says again but the confused look stays on Zato's face. "It appears you still don't understand me." Grabbing his chin and thinking Cable thinks if a solution. "If it's alright may I try something?" Cable asks as Zato takes a step back but Cable puts his hand on Zato's shoulder and suddenly his body jolts before he shakes his head and takes his hand off Zato's shoulder.
"I see, you're memories of the ninth wielder are gone but the edges of them remain. That portion of your memories are so fractured that your mind can't comprehend any metion of them and sk they're blocked out." Cable explains as Zato looks shocked
"How'd you figure all that out?" Zato asks not really trusting Cable's explanation.
"I believe the proper term is empath or atleast that's what I've been called by others. Ever since birth I've just been able to understand people rather easily." Cable explains with a smile as he walks away from Zato. "Anyway what brings you here young one?" Cable asks as Zato looks around finally analyzing his surrounds.
Looking around Zato finds himself inba vast beautiful open field with luscious green grass, a few flowers scattered around, a blue sky with a few clouds, and the sun's rays lightly beating down. "I don't even know where here is." Zato stats.
"This a world between your realm of awareness and the realm where the speak to the black dragon herself. It's where the wielder of old rest." Cable explains.
"Alright but I didn't chose to come here. That overgrown reptile sent me here. Also what's going on with body right now?" Zato asks
"Worry not. You're body is merely in a state similar to that of being unconscious." Cable explains while unbeknownst to Zato back in the real world Zato's unconscious body is lifted over the shoulder of a bulry muscler man while a skiny lanky man with limps longer than they should be holds a phone up to his ear.
"Yeah it was surprisingly easy, the kid was asleep.
