“Dad, I’m tired of this Captain Pirate flirting with me. I’m going to go to the diner, ok?” I say, highly annoyed. I walk out the Sheriff's Department and head there. Henry is rather intrigued by these pirates. I only read the book once, and I just skimmed through it. I head inside and sit down at a booth, the same place where Eliza had ran into this situation with the pirates.
“May I take your order, Emma?” Ruby asks, breaking the memory.
“Huh? Oh yeah. I’ll have just a burger, with the side of fries and a drink of Hot Chocolate with Cinnamon in it, thanks,” I say, forcing a smile.
“You got it! Coming right up,” Ruby says, with a big grin and walks off. My phone goes off with a phone call from work. Something up with the pirates? I thought that I already told dad were I was, and the reason why I went. A soft clanck of the table, just enough to get my attention, and my food is there! I pick up my burger and eat it, absolutely starving! You’d think that I could die without food for just a few hours! I was just about to take a drink of my hot cocoa, when poof! Eliza, Jefferson and Philip appear outta nowhere!
“Emma!” Eliza cheers when she sees me and sits down in my booth, right across from me. I look at her skeptical.
“What? Why’d you bring him, I mean, I know that Jefferson assumed that he would want to come, and see why, but, why in the diner? I thought that you guys left at his place?” I ask, quietly. She has a smug look on her face.
“We made him a deal. He sees the Jones’ in jail, in Storybrooke, and he tells us everything he knows about them, including Captain Hooks’ Croc,” Eliza says, her voice having the same smugness as her smile. I groan and put my head down.
“Emma, what’s wrong?” Eliza asks, confused.
“The Captain Hook guy has been making moves on me, ever since you guys left,” I explain.
“That sounds like typical Killigan,” Philip says, frowning a little.
“Henry made a big deal about proving to this ‘Killigan’ guy that he knew exactly who he was, from his book that Eliza gave him,” I say frowning.
“What did Henry say about him?” Eliza asks.
“Something about knowing that his brother died, and some chick named Milah dying. I left before things got ugly. You know how teenage boys can be. He wants to be just like his hero, His grandfather," I say. Philip nods slowly, with a frown on his face, like he’s thinking.
“Let’s go to the Department. You can eat here or take the food to go. We can always meet up later,” Eliza says. I decide to go with them and call for Ruby. She comes by and puts my food into a to-go box. I take it and leave, to go back to the same room as that stupid pirate.
We walk in, and we’re welcomed by a familiar male voice with an Irish accent.
“‘Ello loves! and mates..” Hook says.
“Shut up, pirate,” Jefferson says, with a deadly look on his face. Hook also has a deadly look on his face, and as soon as he sees Philip, his eyes glimmer with hurt. How do these pirates know almost everyone in Storybrooke?! Keira seems to almost light up when she sees Philip, and Hook glares at her, telling her not to. No Henry to be seen, he must have left with my dad. My mother is the only one who can handle Hook's obnoxious antics.
“I told you, sis, they always come back,” Hook says, with a smile that most would mistake for innocence. I just see arrogance.
“I didn’t come back for you, I came back to see how you and Philip got along,” I say flatly.
“Well, it still has to do with this Devilishly Handsome Pirate, aye?” Hook says with a smug smirk and a cocked eyebrow. I narrow my eyes at him and slowly shake my head.
Eliza, Philip and I walk into my office for some privacy. We don't want the Pirates to know what we are up to. As I close the blinds, Hook gives me a cocky grin. I give him a dirty look. He actually has the nerve to laugh. I hate men.
“So, Philip, now that you saw them, tell us everything you know,” Eliza says.
“Well, Hook, Keira, Liam and I were childhood friends. That friendship lasted until Hook, well Killigan at that time, came back. Liam had perished at sea, and I wanted to help them out, being as much as a friend I could be. Later on, he ran into Milah, in a tavern, and he fell in love with her. Keira said that she was only using him to get back at her husband, that was a village coward. His crocodile is known as Rumpelstiltskin, or Rumple for short. I do not know his name here, in Storybrooke. Shortly after then, he wanted to avenge her, and I cut off all communication with them, even if it broke my heart,” Philip says.
“We know what Rumplestiltskin is called here, it's Mr. Gold. Thanks for your time, Phillip. You can go now,” I say. He leaves my office and Snow walks in.
"We need to make a decision on what to do with Hook and Keira," Snow states.
“I honestly think that Keira deserves a second chance,” Eliza says.
“Yeah, but who’s going to keep an eye on Hook, while she’s gone, and who’s gonna keep her in line, while she’s out?” I ask.
“You can have people follow her. You could follow Philip, too. The way he looked at the pirate girl reminds me of Jefferson and I. Phillip loves her. We need to keep an eye on him too.” Eliza says.
“Ok, that’s settled then, what about Hook?” I say.
“Well, I was thinking, ever since Graham died, you’ve been lonely. How about try, just try to get to know him. Besides, I think he likes you,” Eliza says.
“Graham is Graham. He’s gone and in the past. And, I could say the same about Hook with any girl in this town,” I say.
“True, Graham is gone, but, I donno, a gut feeling is telling me this,” Eliza says, with big puppy eyes. Ugh! I hate it when she does that. I give in, as always.
“Fine..” I mumble.
So that’s settled, I’m to keep tabs on Hook, hopefully Dad will trade with me every-so-often. I walk over to her cell and open it up.
“Kiera, you’re free to go,” I say.
Her face lights up. Her brother has that snarl that says ‘I want to to be free.’ I quickly look away before I can notice anything else, and based off of what Dad says, he likes to plot his way out.
