It was pretty cool being able to help Grandpa get information out of Hook. I got to practice my cop manipulation skills on a real pirate! It’s a dream come true for any fourteen year old boy. I just hope that Aunt Beth and Uncle Jefferson get back safely. Mom won’t tell me anything! I think she’s getting worried about them. Or busy dealing with that flirtatious pirate. Grandma Snow has been keeping an eye on me. I don’t think she wants me anywhere near the prison.

“Grandma,” I say.

“Snow is fine Henry,” Snow replies, not liking being called ‘Grandma’.

“Sorry. I keep forgetting. Do you have any news about Aunt Beth and Uncle Jefferson coming back safely to Storybrooke? I miss them,” I say.

“From what I heard, Eliza and Jefferson just got back. They’re at the Sheriff's Department. Henry, I wish you would stop calling Jefferson your uncle. They’re not married,” Snow says.

“Yet. I’m going to go see them. Catch you later, Snow,” I say, walking to the door. As my hand hits the doorknob, I think to myself ‘Yes! I’m free, she didn’t catch where I was going’. Oh but I was so wrong.

“Henry, stop correcting me. You are not going to the Department. You are staying here. If you want to go somewhere, I’m going with you, young man. Remember, I maybe your grandmother, but I’m still in my youth. I have the energy to keep up with you,” Snow states, matter-of-factly.

“Great.” I mumble. “Let me please see my friend Theo. I’m a freshman in high school. He’s a junior. He makes me feel welcome, and not bullied. He’s my only friend,” I tell her.

“That’s fine. How did he come to Storybrooke,” Snow asks.

“I don’t know. I think the curse brought him here, like it did everyone else,” I tell her, honestly.

“Interesting. Go have fun,” Snow says.

As I walk to Theo’s house, I wonder what storybook character he is and how he got here. I knock on his door, and he answers.

“Hey! Did you hear about the pirates getting caught?” I ask, excitedly.

“Yeah, hey, maybe we could explore the woods a little. It’s so big and mysterious,” Theo says.

“Sounds great!” I say, and we walk off, he quietly shuts the door as we leave.

As we walk, we talk about all of the things we could do with the things we could find in the woods, and my book, and magic. He does believe in magic, he also says he feels lonely and that he doesn’t quite know what to do, because he doesn’t belong. That’s how all of the people felt in the book, before they met someone! He reminds me of a Viking Leaders’ son, but, not quite as audacious.

I stumble down a big hill, and Theo catches me, just in time too! A panther, injured and has a rope on it’s back, snarls at us with big razor-sharp, white teeth. It’s eyes are yellow green, but it almost looks afraid. Theo does the bravest thing, he pulls out a pocket knife, talking to it soothingly. He gently strokes the panther, and gets some loose materials and ties it around the back of the tail, to help stop the bleeding.

“Henry, you name it,” Theo says, smiling.

“How about you, you’re the one who helped it,” I say, smiling.

“Alright… Midnight. It’s going to be called Midnight,” Theo says, as he gently strokes the panther and gets the rope off of it’s back. It pins him to the ground and snarls and it stares straight into his eyes and then Midnight leaps away.

Theo, after Midnight left, slowly got up and walked me back to Snow’s. I know who his storybook character is... Hiccup. Theo is Hiccup and Midnight is Toothless, a Viking King Son and a Night-Fury, a dragon.
