Micah and I decide to go back to Granny’s. One, I’m starving and two, he wanted to go because he wanted to see Ruby again.
As we walk in, I see Hook and another man, who looks almost exactly like him, just talking. I frown in confusion at them here. They’re never here. Well, Hook is whenever he wants to drink, but that’s hardly now, because of something. Micah walks fast ahead, as I stare at them. I hear a snap of fingers, located right in front of my face. I blink to see Micah laughing at me.
“Hmm?” I ask, turning my attention on him.
“Why are you staring at Hook and the other person over there?” Micah asks.
“Hook is hardly ever here anymore, much less the town, and I’ve never seen the other man before. I’m just curious and cautious at the same time,” I say.
“Well, we could go ask them,” Micah suggests. I give him a ‘really’ look.
“Dean, Micah, common over here!” Hook shouts over at us. We both turn and walk over to where he is at.
“Dean and Micah? Killigan told me that you came from a different realm, other than Misthaven,” The other man says.
“How do you know Hook?” I ask, before answering his question.
“He’s my brother,” the strange man says in a low tone, “Now, whom are you two?”
“Dean and Micah,” I say. Hook smirks at that answer and nods a little bit. That’s probably something he’d say, then. I look down at my hands and just think about Erebor.
“Erebor. That’s where Dean and I are from,” Micah says quietly.
“Liam Jones, from England. And my little brother, Killigan Jones, from England,” Liam proudly says, but it’s hushed. Micah and I sit down with them, Killigan invited us to sit with them, and there was no backing out of it. Annabeth walked up to take all of our orders. I drew a blank, but I knew what I was going to order, but I couldn’t move my heart was pounding that fast.
“Mate… anyone there? She’s waiting to take your order..,” Hook says. I blink some more and I order.
Once she’s out of earshot, I glare at Hook with a ‘don’t you dare say anything’ look. Liam laughs and so does Hook.
“So now, both of you boys have a thing for a waitress.. I’m actually surprised that Sheriff Swan actually likes me. It’s sort of strange though.. I mean, I am devilishly handsome, but, I’m also a pirate. A dangerous one at that. I’m thinking maybe I could revisit my crocodile, and get my hand back,” Hook says, talking mainly to his brother.
“Mr. Gold?” Micah asks.
Hook nods as he says, “Aye.. Mr. Gold here, Rumpelstiltskin back in Misthaven. Why? You know something about it?”
“Yeah. I read an article on the news board beside the Mines. Apparently, someone kicked him out of Storybrooke,” Micah and I say, like we did with Prince Charming, with naming our father.
“Are you two twins? You two finish each others sentences,” Hook says.
“No. I’m older by two years,” I say.
“How old are you?” Hook asks.
“23 in human years, in Erebor Dwarvish years… I am 43 years old,” I say, my mind thinking back to home.
“That makes Micah 21, in human years,” Liam says.
“Ruby is 20. She’s a year younger than Micah. And her sister I believe is also, like the two of you, she two years younger than her sister,” Hook says matter-of-factly. I put my head down, hiding my face before it goes all red. I close my eyes and wait for the sound of laughter to come, which surprisingly, it doesn’t.
“So.. I’m actually 286 years old, because of all the time in Neverland, I look like I’m 23, your age Dean,” Hook says, causally.
I look up and say, frowning, “that’s about 37 years after a Dwarf from Erebor is supposed to live!” Hook and Liam laugh. I also assume that he’s just a few years older than Hook, I put my head down.
“I can’t believe it.. I thought Micah and I were the oldest ones here,” I say.
“Actually, one of the town's’ elders is older than both von Trapp and I combined. It’s actually a town full of story book characters. Once people hit a certain age, who grew up and everything at this town, never grow old. It’s like the same thing in Neverland, only Neverland is more wild less organized than here in Storybrooke,” Hook says. He should know. I sigh. Micah, Hook, and Liam all look concerned at me.
“What? Just thinking about home. I miss my father and mother. I just can’t stop thinking about Erebor,” I say. Micah nods with a sad expression on his face.
“I feel both of your pain. I miss England, before I became a pirate. I actually tried to go back to becoming the man I was with Liam around, but, it just didn’t work. Instead, I fell in love with the world of magic and that became my home. Everything will settle in. You guys already found jobs.. I’ve been in jail and no one will accept me, not even the Dwarves. But, it’s nice having my brother back. I don’t know where Keira went, but she’s also glad about everything being fine with us siblings,” Hook says. I nod.
“LeRoy is hard to get along with, but it’s simple with us. Our family was like that, before we came here. We are dwarves that come from the Mining Tribe, so we basically hit rock, like the Dwarves to here, but it’s nice to have a small bit of home with us,” I say, looking at Micah, who is nodding and agreeing with what I’m saying.
“Well, it’s actually been great getting to know the new people of Storybrooke,” Liam says politely. I nod, letting them know it’s fine for them to go on.
Micah and I talk and eat. After all this time, Annabeth has been patiently waiting, allowing us to talk and everything. We hurry up and eat, before the food gets anymore cold.
