I sigh and put my head back. Why am I letting her best me? I am the Infamous Captain Hook, not a man that lets people best me! Charming comes in, glares at me, and kicks me out of the room, and I have to go after Emma.

“Where’re we going?” I ask Emma, jogging up to her.

“Mr. Gold’s. We need to get our quest,” Emma says.

I grab her arm, and I’m in front of her, “Love, you can’t. He’ll crush my heart whether I’m in Storybrooke or not. I’m a tool to him. I don’t wanna get close to you, and have to deal with the same pain I did,” I say, slipping out my feelings. I frown in realization, and hopefully she didn’t catch that. I let go of her arm and I walk to the towns border, I know my mission- to find Baelfire and bring him back to Rumple, his father.

As I’m about to step over the line, I feel followed, like I did earlier in my experience in this town.

“Emma, I told you, don’t follow me,” I say, stepping out of the line.

“Too bad, you have to deal with it,” Emma says, running up to me. I roll my eyes and she says something about New York City. Apparently, it’s a large city where many businesses boom, and there’s giant skyscrapers. I have no clue what anything is in this Realm. Emma finds an apartment building and there happens to be one who doesn’t want their presents to be found out. I look at her completely clueless, and she hits something that makes a terrible noise. I go outside to check on something, and I see a figure jump off of a platform and I chase after him. That’s Bae. He always ran, and right now, we need him. I catch him and I bring him to Emma, and she’s pale as a ghost. Someone from her past.

“Neal?..” Emma breathes out, terrified.

“Emma?” Baelfire says, excitedly.

“I’d hate to interrupt a reunion, but, how do you two know each other?” I ask quietly.

“I was about to ask the same, Jones,” Baelfire growls. I snarl back at him and Emma breaks us up. She said something about going back to the town, and we do.

We walk back into Storybrooke. We take him to Mr. Golds’ and I wait for the pain of having my heart crushed, and it does come. The pain was so great, I almost died, but Emma stopped it, somehow.

“Give me the heart, Rumple,” Emma says. I force myself to stand up, even though the room is spinning and my heartbeat is in my temples.

“Please, be gentle,” I groan. I felt my heart kick back into place, and I felt an overwhelming relief.

“Emma, I need to ask you something,” I ask, right before she left.

“Yeah, what is it?” Emma asks, frowning.

“Why did you not let my heart get crushed?” I ask, cocking an eyebrow.

“It was the right thing to do, to save a life, not let a ‘crocodile’ kill a pirate with only one hand. It would be unfair,” Emma says, she tried mimicking my accent with ‘crocodile’. I smirk a little and nod. Why am I letting her get to me? Killigan Jones doesn’t have feelings, well, maybe he does. I should start becoming a hero. A pirate becoming a hero, try to believe that.
