Today is my wedding day! I can’t believe I’m getting married to my best friend, my companion, and the love of my life, my Jefferson. I can’t wait! I have the perfect dress, perfect family and friends, what could go wrong!? Just my nervous self could end up tripping over my own feet in front of everyone. That would be embarrassing and stupid. I just need to calm down.

Alice, Rosalie, and Emma come into the dressing room. Alice smiles at me, standing next to me doing my make-up.

“Looks like you got your beauty rest last night, unlike someone else,” Alice says, narrowing her eyes at Emma.

“What! I was working on a case. I just had to wrap things up, besides it was just paperwork,” Emma says, a little defensive. Rosalie laughs.

“Oh, really? You were just using that as an excuse to hang out with Captain Guyliner. I was that way with Emmett, I still am,” Rosalie says, with a smirk and a wink.

“Stop making her laugh. I need to make a masterpiece, and I can’t make the Bride feel beautiful if she keeps laughing,” Alice says with mock anger in her tone. Emma smirks.

“Can I do her hair,” Rosalie asks.

“Oh course you can! Eliza, you’ll look breath-taking once Rose and I are done with you, ” Alice says excitedly.

I look in the mirror when they are done. I am stunned at the beautiful woman staring back at me. I don’t even look like me.

“We told you, since the first day we met you, that you’re absolutely breath-taking,” Rosalie says with a smile. Emma and Alice both have tears in their eyes.

“Emma! What’s wrong? I’ve never seen you cry before,” I say, concerned.

“Nothing. It’s just that you look so beautiful, and weddings are always so happy,” Emma says.

“Welcome to the family,” Alice says. Rosalie exchanges a look with Alice, then Alice has a look of ‘Oh my, I said too much’. I crinkle my forehead in confusion.

“What do you mean, Alice? Rose, what’s going on,” I ask.

“It’s a long story for another day. Right now all you need to do is look beautiful and enjoy your special day,” Alice says. I give them a ‘really’ look. Rosalie nods her head.

I hear a knock at the door.

“Come on in,” I say. It’s mom! I smile at her and give her a warm hug.

“Look at you! I knew I had two beautiful daughters! You both look beautiful,” mom says.

I smile and say, “Mom, I only have my make-up on. I’m not even in the dress yet.”

“The dress! Let’s see you in that beautiful dress! Emma, you look stunning! Elia did a great job picking out those bridesmaid dresses. Alice and Rosalie, you look beautiful, as well!”

We all smile and laugh, getting ready for the wedding that is only a few hours away.

Dad comes up to me and says, “The ceremony is about to begin, kiddo. You ready?”

I look at Dad with tears in my eyes and say, “I’m terrified.”

“Don’t be. You are a lucky woman. Jefferson loves you and will take care of you. You picked a great guy. I approve,” Dad says.

I’m so nervous and scared to be center stage. Dad puts a calming hand on my arm. “You got this. You got this. Even if you trip, dad will catch you,” I say calmingly in my head. As soon as I round the corner and see Jefferson’s awestruck expression, I know I am complete and safe. When Jefferson and I are together we are one.

At the dinner party, everyone danced and laughed. Jefferson and I had a magical first dance together as husband and wife. My father/daughter dance was fun, sad, and exciting all at once. For dinner we went to Shedd Aquarium. It made my wedding magical, beautiful and special! A dream come true!

As I think about the future, I know that as long as I'm with Jefferson, I will always be safe. I can't believe that I'm Mrs. Jefferson Stan!
