I talk with Liam, I couldn’t help but notice how hurt Killigan looked when Liam said that to him.

“Where have you been?” Liam asks.

“Forgiving Prince Philip. I hung out with him, laughing and telling the stories of where our lives went afterward we lost connection,” I say.

“Ah. And Philip, our family friend, do you like him?” Liam asks. I frown at the thought.

“No! He has always been a family friend to me!” I say, with a lot of emotion.

“Oh, the poor man.. He fancies you,” Liam says.

“Quit being like Killigan and setting me up with someone.. Milah even tried setting me up with someone, I never trusted her though.. Anyways, Killigan looked really hurt. I’m going to go check on him,” I say, and I go to the door.

“Keira, it’s pointless talking to him while he’s like that. You should know that by now. You have been at his side for a very long time,” Liam says.

“You gave up on him. Everyone deserves to have a second chance,” I say, opening the door. I walk out to where I last saw Killigan.

“Killigan? You okay?” I ask. I see his shadow figure jump.

“Yeah.. I’m fine Keira..” Killigan says, his voice groggy, like he just woke up. I sit down beside him.

During the morning we talk to each other. He actually has a better heart; he’s cleaning up himself and turning his heart good.

“I have a feeling that hardly anyone likes me in this town. I got my heart ripped out, and I had to to do the dirty work of Rumpelstiltskin. I’ve been in jail.. but I’m trying to change. I should have never come here. I shouldn’t have come here out of greed. We can’t go back to England, we were supposed to die a century and thirty years ago.. I’m just stuck here. I have no reason to live. I have my heart back, but my hand.. would I just be better off with my life one handed? I.. I should give up my pirate ways. Normal people do not have a hook for a hand..” Killigan says, tears showing in his eyes. He means every word he said.

“Hey.. What about Emma? I thought you said she was your ‘new Milah’,” I say.

“I think she is, but I know that her family doesn’t approve of me being with her,” Killigan says, “I don’t think that Eliza is happy with me and her together, Charming has always hated me, which causes Snow White to hate me. Pretty much everyone hates me but my family and the people who don’t know me don’t hate me.”

“Everything will work out. You just have to think positively,” I say, sitting back up. I notice a clear jar in his hand.

“What’s in that?” I ask, sitting back down, touching the lid of the jar.

“My hand. I was going to ask my Crocodile to put my hand back on my body, but I was missed short. He was commanded out of town. I did find my spyglass and I have it in my coat pocket. Eliza and Emma walked up behind me when I was heading here. Eliza was really happy and excited, so she scared me. Emma had her go and apparently I was thinking on several things. I was about to go back, but Emma told me to wait, and so I did. She and I kissed. After that, she had me go, and I walked here. Then, our brother told me he was disappointed in me. That leads us to here,” Killigan says.

“You seem to be very hurt. He said that talking to you was pointless. You needed someone to talk to. I’m glad I could talk to you,” I say, smiling. He smiles back and wraps his arm around me; one of his famous one-armed hugs.

“I hope you feel better. Try to talk to Emma,” I say.

“You try to talk to Prince Philip. I can tell in his eyes, he loves you. Same in your eyes. I may not know the look of love on my face, but I quite the observer,” Killigan says.

“You have always been an observer. Remember when we were in England, and we just were about to set sail? You took a sailors flask and questioned them. Time only knew that you’d like rum,” I say, laughing. Killigan joins in the laughing.
