Chapter 8

Ashton's POV

And just like that my world was once again falling apart right before my eyes, and I couldn't do anything to stop it.

She closed her eyes and I screamed as loud as I possibly could and kicked the chair I had just used to sit next to her.

Nurses came running in and James quickly pulled me out, and right before we walked out I realized her heart rate was still going steady.

We walked out of the room and I kicked the wall and punched it repeatedly as I felt my hand split on the side.

I didn't even care.

I wrapped my hands around my head even though one was bleeding as I slid down the wall.

James didn't do or say anything, he just cried silently.

Here I was full force reacting and all he did was cry.

How the hell could he not have the same reaction as me?!

He's known her for her entire life and has loved her the way I do and still does and all he does is cry?!

It irritated me and I needed to go somewhere.

I got up off the floor with blood still dripping off my hand as I walked away from the room to an empty supply closet and shut the door.

I shut the door and cried loudly as I pulled out my phone.

Calum,

No.

Mikey,

No.

Luke,

Yes.

I dialled Luke's number and tried to calm myself and my crying, but failed miserably as he picked up.

"Ashton what's wrong?" He asked immediately.

"S- she, she's gone." I cried into the phone trying to wipe my tears as even more flowed down my face.

The line was silent.

"N- no. S- she can't be...." He said desperately.

I could almost hear and feel his heart breaking.

"Where are you?" He asked quickly as I heard shuffling in the background.

"I'm at the hospital in a supply closet. I just, I don't know what to Fucking do anymore Luke! Why the hell is this happening please tell me this is a dream!" I yelled.

"Ashton I don't know...What did she say to you anything? Did you see her?" He asked the same desperation filling his voice.

"She um," I said sniffling and wiping more tears, "She told me to tell everyone she loved them and that she was sorry..."

"Sorry? Did she...Oh God she did didn't she..."

I nodded crying more and stayed silent.

Luke knew what she was sorry about.

He'd been there for her through it all and now we both failed her.

"Hold on." He said as the phone line buzzed and then it was Calum on the phone.

"Ash?"

"Cal?" I asked.

"Yeah, are you okay?" He asked worried.

"No..." I choked out.

"Where's Luke?" I asked.

"He gave me the phone and is getting a ride for him to go back to the hotel."
