Chapter 17

Sam's POV

I didn't sleep well that night...

I was anxious about seeing all these people.

I was in a lot of pain and had to call nurses almost every hour.

James didn't get any sleep because he was too worried about me and that made me feel guilty.

Lauren was up making calls all night.

I don't know to who, but it was a guy who she told me would be home soon.

When I finally got to sleep my mind started to dream.

I dreamed of the accident.

I dreamed of me and James and Lauren.

I dreamed of me and my family.

Then I woke up and it was the next morning.

James was asleep in the chair looking as uncomfortable as he possibly could.

Lauren was asleep on the small couch with her phone in hand.

And a nurse stood next to me checking my vitals to make sure I was stable.

"What time is it?" I croaked out amazed I could even talk.

The nurse looked at me, "About 10 in the morning."

I nodded.

She finished checking my levels and left and as she shut the door the noise work up James.

He jumped at the noise and opened his eyes, "hm?"

"It was just the door..." I say softly as his eyes landed on me.

He sat up and moved closer to me, "how are you feeling?"

I took a breath, "better, my entire body hurts but I'm able to talk now..."

He nods, "The boys should be here in about an hour."

I nodded slowly as a knock came to the door.

James got up and opened it running his hands through his hair, "Hey." He said as Marie came in.

"How is she?" She asked as James stepped aside and she saw me.

She immediately burst into tears and came over to me.

"Hi baby, how are you feeling?" She asked taking my hand in hers.

"Okay..." I choked out.

"There is a few people waiting out there to see you, so I'm going to tell them to come in okay?" She asked.

I nodded.

She walked out to the hall and mumbled some stuff and then a few familiar faces walked in.

Stephen,Demi,my old school friends, Brittany, my neighbors.

Brittany was the first to step up, "hi...I'm so sorry..." She says.

I look at her, "it's okay..."

She steps away as Stephen comes over and hugs me softly careful not to hurt me.

"I'm so sorry...you're like a sister to me and I...I couldn't get here sooner I'm so sorry..." He says crying and sniffling.

Which makes me cry.

"I'm sorry..." I say softly.

He chuckles through his sniffling, "You don't have anything to be sorry about."

He kisses my cheek and let's go as he goes and sits next to the still sleeping Lauren.

Demi comes over, "I didn't even know you were in an accident until Stephen called me today. And it's been months, I'm so sorry I didn't know sooner. I would've came." She says wiping her already crying eyes.

I nod and feel a bit over whelmed by all the people as Laurens phone goes off and she wakes up.

She looks around quickly, "when the hell did everyone get here?"

I smiled and everyone laughed softly as she answered her phone.

"hello?...Yeah she's doing okay...Okay...Well when do you think you'll get here?...Alright well I'll tell him...bye."

"Who was it?" James asked looking at her.

"The guys got an early flight out at the airport so they should be here any minute."

I felt my heart racing.

I felt really anxious.

I was excited.

I was shaking.

I felt...different.

Everyone conversed and cried and laughed and the atmosphere felt happy and whole.

As if me tearing it apart never happened.

And that was when I heard a knock on the door.

Lauren got up and answered it and stepped out for a moment.

"who is it?" I asked confused.

Demi shrugged along with Stephen and Brittany.

James came and sat by me again as the door opened finally and Lauren walked back in along with four guys and my eyes immediately locked with his.

Now I knew why I felt so nervous and excited and different.

It was because he was coming.

I knew it.

And as the four guys all looked at me I choked out his name,
