Chapter 21

Calum's POV

God she was fantastic.

We talked for hours and hours and then we went separate ways.

I went back to the lobby where Michael was asleep in a chair and everyone else was on the verge or falling asleep.

When I walked back in to the lobby Ashton turned to me, "Where have you been?"

"I'll tell you later." I smiled and then yawned.

"Do you guys want to get a hotel for the night?" I asked.

They nodded tiredly and stood up, well all except Ash.

"Ash?" Luke asked.

"I think I'm going to stay here." He said rubbing his eyes.

"No, come on man. We're all really tired, just come with and we'll come back tomorrow morning." Luke said tired waking up Michael.

"Mind if I come? I'll drive." Lauren yawned as Stephen held her on his lap.

"That's fine, Stephen you can come too." Michael said hardly even conscious.

"Alright let's go." She said tired and got up as we all walked outside and piled into Lauren's car.

I had to sit on Luke's lap and Ashton was on Michael's.

Needless to say it was awkward.

We drove in silence and then checked into a hotel where we'd stay for the night.

We trudged up the stairs and got to our room.

"Two beds and a couch." Stephen said.

"You two can have a bed, I'll sleep on the couch with Michael and then Luke and Ash can have the other bed." I planned out quickly.

"Alright." Lauren said as me and Michael pulled out the couch that turned into a bed.

Then we all basically passed out, except for me.

I needed to do something first.

I pulled out my phone and pulled up my messages.

I hit on Compose New Message and then added Brittany as the recipient.

From: Calum
To: Brittany

          Hi...I don't know if I'm crazy or if any of this will make sense, but I guess I'll just type it anyway. I can't stop thinking about you. I don't know if you feel the same, but I think you needed to know. I know you're with that other guy, but after I saw what he did to you today, it makes me physically ache. I can't stand to see you hurt...especially like that. I'm rambling, I know, but I can't help it. If you don't feel the same, that's okay...but I'll still protect you from him. I'll see you tomorrow and I promise I won't let him hurt you. Goodnight.

I hit send and then eventually drifted to sleep.

The next morning we got up and headed off to the hospital after we got ready and ate.

Once we walked in I saw Brittany was there talking to a nurse.

"She has a boyfriend." Luke said noticing my staring.

"Not for long." I said as he went to object, but Brittany walked over.

"Hi guys." She smiled.

"Hi." We all answered half heartedly.
